The birds were chirping softly and the sun shone brightly through the window but Melinda May had to slide back into bed with her husband who was still sound asleep and she had finished up her tai chi and was now back in just her black lace bra and underwear. “Good morning Phil time to wake up” she whispered softly into his ear pressing her body against his which only had black boxers on because they had a wild night of passion to cristine their new bed and floor and the shower….. Phil groaned softly and turned over onto his back and pulled his wife on top of him she giggled quietly “Good morning Lin” he reached up and pecked her lips she deepened the kiss though biting his lip which then led to their tongues exploring the others it was a beautiful dance they learned years ago.
“We gotta get up because I am starving you know I am eating for two now”
Melinda said cutely after breaking the kiss she then got up swiftly and put on a black tank top she found on the floor from last night Phil followed suit getting up and put on his grey sleep shorts staying shirtless. The young couple headed downstairs to their kitchen which was still a bit unorganized but it worked for now and Phil got to work on a delicious breakfast.
10:00 am
Breakfast was done and the couple had put the rest of the kitchen together which mainly consisted of Melinda sitting on a stool at the island directing Phil on where to put everything.You can be darn sure that she made sure everything she would regularly use was within reach since she was sadly so short. After they were done with that and they got dressed and ready for the day they sat curled up together on the couch until Phil spoke up “Hey Lin I have a surprise for you” Melinda looked up at him and shot him a glare “Phil...you know I don’t like surprises” “would you just trust me and come see it for yourself” she just huffed and nodded getting up they both left driving into town.
Pulling up to the building Phil had found earlier that week Melinda turned to him confused “Phil will you please tell me why we just drove to an empty building next to Roger's diner”. He chuckled “because that empty building is now our new business!” he had an exaggerated excited expression on his face but Melinda looked confused but there was a gleam of hope and excitement in her eyes. They got out of the car and headed into the building and Melinda looked around at the dirty interior “Phil...this is so sweet and I won’t even ask right now where you got the money to buy this place but it’s a dump right now did you even consider how much fixing it up is gonna cost by the way what did you plan to turn this place into?”
Phil just scoffed quietly “What else but a bakery I mean that’s what we went to school for and we are amazing at it” she took a deep breath and closed her eyes using a calming technique then went over to him pecking his lips and looking into his blue eyes “let’s do this”. That night they made sweet love both excited to see what the future holds.
Two Months Later
Melinda was three months pregnant now and they were making great progress in their bakery. All their friends had agreed to help out with renovations for free so with all the help things were able to move along quickly. Melinda was doing some paperwork on the couch when Phil came home to bring her lunch but he scrunched his nose when he stepped inside “Lin? Did you burn something” she looked up unphased by the smell “yeah I made a grilled cheese” she smiled and then bit into the very burnt sandwich. He chuckled quietly, sitting down next to her Melinda curled up to his side looking at sketches for the bakery logo.

“Hey turtle man pass me that hammer” Elena asked her fiance
Mack passed the hammer over rolling his eyes “why do you keep calling me turtle man” he muttered his breath still hating that nickname after two years. “Lance you hung up those lights wrong they are so crooked” Bobbi yelled from across the little almost bakery “well Barbara I am so sorry that I can’t reach that high what’s wrong with them down here” her boyfriend retorted putting a teasing emphasis on her full name. “Guys guys can we please just continue working”. “We want this all finished for Phil and Mel when they get here” Maria Hill commented while finishing organizing some plants that will be in the corner of the bakery. Everyone nodded they actually had the whole main area almost finished the only thing left that needed to be finished was the kitchen. “Hey I just got a text from Phil they will be here in about fifteen minutes they had to stop because Melinda wanted ice cream” Fury, their father figure/the sheriff of the town called out while standing in the corner looking cold and mysterious.
Phil and Melinda stepped out of Phil’s beloved red corvette and now stood feet away from their new business filled with their friends nervous to see the final product. “I still can not believe you left our friends to finish decorating” Mel said annoyed with a slight frown on her face truthfully she was just tired her pregnancy seemed to be taking an extra toll on her more than it should be. “Oh Mel have a little faith and I promise if it is as bad as you think it might be you can yell all you want” she smiled at the thought of him sitting there while she screamed. The two took a deep breathe before opening the doors and stepping inside the building “SURPRISE” everyone inside yelled in unison the pair looked around.
“Oh wow…”
“Oh my god…”
