Chapter 5~ Let's do This

A/N: Heyy guys so today was my last day of school and to celebrate I finished this chapter and published it. Finally am I right?

7 Months

"What about Allison or Adrian?” Phil suggested to his wife while they were working the couple have been trying to pick baby names for the past three weeks and could not seem to agree on any. “What is it with you and names that start with A hmm” Melinda retorted. Phil shrugged his shoulders “ I don’t know they just sound really nice” “So does the lottery but that does not mean its gonna be good” Melinda huffed and finished whipping up some frosting “well clearly right now we can’t seem to agree on names right now plus it's hard since we don’t know the genders so looks like we will have to wait till they come to decide” Phil nodded in agreement and pulled some cronuts out of the oven.

The group of friends including leo and jemma even though they were still in high school the teens were bright,a little quiet and shy but very mature, anyway the group decided to hang out at Roger’s Diner to just catch up and have a fun night their were not many people there since it was the early start of the dinner rush. The sweet older owners husband and wife Peggy and Steve Rogers brought the cheery group of friends a round of beers and of course a tea for Melinda then
went off to tend to other customers a few minutes later a group of rougher looking men came in and sat in a dark corner booth staying very quiet but scanning the space. Melinda noticed them immediately tensing up with her sharp senses and got stiff ready to pounce and then the shooting started….
Everyone ducked for cover in a split second, the men all covering their girls. A bullet grazed Phil’s arm but it wasn’t major. Melinda slid out from under the table she was under and like a badass spy took out every one of the thugs taking a few hits but nothing serious. After the police came and arrested the men everyone went home shaken up a bit but safe.  

8 Months 

Melinda had been put on bedrest and her days were now spent at home munching on her cravings and just waiting for Phil to come home from work. It was a beautiful June Saturday afternoon and the couple had been decorating the nursery the whole day with Melinda ignoring Phil every time he protested her actions saying she needed to take it easy. They had decided that each one would get a half of the room to decorate how they wanted Phil chose to decorate his half superhero themed comic book style and Melinda decorated her side Star Wars themed they were both so nerdy but the room turned out really really really really cute. They still didn’t have names picked officially but both of them had ideas in their minds. 

That evening after dinner, which was mexican food Melinda’s biggest craving the past couple months she blamed Phil, which seemed to be a normal thing now everything was his fault but that's marriage am I right?

Phil was leaning back on the headboard reading when he turned his head to watch Melinda crawl into bed and lay back groaning a little. “Everything alright honey what's wrong” all Melinda responded with was “back” The rest of the month was filled with Melinda beginning to start nesting and Phil constantly anxious about her and the fact he was about to become a father with two little ones to protect,hold,and love. 

9 Months

Phil decided to leave the bakery in the charge of Bobbi so he could be right beside Melinda. She was due in early July and it was now the second to last week of June they had everything ready a bag packed for the hospital,the house and car baby proofed, and so many baby items it was almost ridiculous her parents had come to town and were staying with them for the past three weeks and had been surprisingly nice and helpful around the house. Imagine that your in laws being nice haha that is a whole different thing and off topic. 

A week and a half later 

Melinda was due in roughly three days but Phil still decided to take her on a little romantic picnic date at the park they used to always go to as little kids. After he helped lower herself down on the blanket he laid out he sat down closely next to her pouring her some hot water and putting a tea bag in it handing it to her then grabbed his travel mug full of coffee; Melinda took a deep breath and closed her eyes smiling looking so peaceful and happy one hand resting on her large bump. Later that day Melinda thought she had gone into labor but it was a false alarm that added some excitement to their day but now all the couple wanted was to hold their little angels in their arms. 

Two days later

“Aagghh Phil their coming!!” Melinda shouted on the nice warm evening of July 2nd while her and Phil were sitting on their couch as her water broke. 

“Oh god oh god oh god ok everyone calm down!! Oh god” Phil shouted, grabbing her bag and helping her to the car then speeding to the hospital.

Six hours later 

Melinda was exhausted but overflowing with joy as she held one of her newborn baby girls she looked to Phil who held their second newborn girl. He had the biggest smile on his face and silent tears fell down his cheeks. 

 “Their perfect Mel i’m so proud of you you did it” 

“I love them so much and I love you” 

Daisy Lian Coulson was born Five minutes before her twin sister Julie Skye Coulson on  Friday July 2nd 1998 and they officially became a family of four.
