Welcome to my shop!
.
Today my grandmitch came to visit me after so long. Her sudden visit makes me feel SO very happy, that I almost pushed her down to the floor when I welcomed her in.

I love my grandmitch, she is quirky and is always fun to be with. She’s the one who taught me how to make jams back on an island we used to live in.

She taught me many things about jam making, like don’t do it carelessly or else it’ll burn. And like she always say, to make everything with love. A bit cliché huh? But I don’t mind it. And although she was not the best teacher, the stories she tells in the middle of cooking are quiet interesting.

The reason she visited me today is because she wanted to give me her ‘Jam Recipe Book’ (Author: which will be shortened to RecBook). A book filled with jam recipes she had been writing over the years.

I took the book and went through the recipes she wrote. It was very clear to her that I was very excited and unpatient to remake all of the recipes in her book. I was glad to receive it that I hugged her tightly once again as I said thank you multiple times.

We then had a cup of tea together and she decided to invite herself in to help me with the shop. The place isn’t too overflowed with customers since there aren’t as many people who knew about this place. But I do have another full-filling part time job. So money isn’t a big worry for me.

At the end of the day, I said goodbye to my grandmitch who will be visiting her sister’s place. I gave her one last hug and told her that I’ll be spending a whole day at her place by the time she returns.

She left the shop and I began tidying up for the day.

Before going to bed, I looked through her RecBook once more.

Tropical Jam: For a breezy summer breeze to appear
Baby Cherry Jam: Low in calories, good for the skin and for those who are on a diet
Tomato Jam: Sweet tasting ketchup used for desserts
Love Jam: For a smoother, silky, white skin.

Once I saw ‘Love Jam’ ‘s uses, I was reminded that I will have a middle school reunion party next week. And my skin has got very dry and oily because my skin care products hasn’t arrived yet.
So I went ahead and looked through the recipe

½ pound of white heart strawberries
½ pound of red heart strawberries
1 tablespoon of pink lemon juice
2 cups of white sugar
3 rose petal, tore
3 heart shaped marshmallows
Serving: 3 Jars

I look over my kitchen cabinets and found all the ingredients needed except for the strawberries and the marshmallows. I went to my room and contacted my usual fruit seller, Ms. Annette. I asked her if she has any heart shaped strawberries and she told me that her neighbor who is also a fruit seller does have them.

I ordered one box of both white and red heart strawberries which will arrive tomorrow afternoon. She also included an extra packet of heart shaped marshmallows which I am very grateful for.

The next day, the shop still has as many people as it was and by the time it reached 1 P.M. The shop is now empty. I got my package already at my back door so I started by weighting the strawberries, ½ pound each.

After I was done, I cut their stems and calyx off and cut them into small pieces. I cut a few of them shaped as hearts and stars to make it look cute when I eat it. [Actually I cut them into shaped because I want to have a reason to eat it]

After that, I squeezed out the pink lemons into a small bowl and poured the white sugar into a cup.

I bring out my jam pan and turned on the head. I mixed all the berries, sugar, and lemon juice with low heat until the sugar dissolves. Then, I increased into high heat and stirred it until it became a thick paste.

I bring out 3 cute round shaped jars and started pouring the jam in it. When I was done, I washed all the dirty dishes I made. Then, I went into my back garden where my Redberries and Creamberries are growing. I picked out my edible rose’s outer petals and head back inside.

I cut the petals into long-thin strands and place them aside on a small bowl. Then I opened the bag of heart marshmallows. There was a mutant shaped one out of them so I took it out and put it in my mouth.

‘Very marshy.’ I said

One by one, I put the rose strands on the jam’s surface and one little heart marshmallow on top of it. I let it aside until it cools down and closed it with a cute pink checkered clothed lid. Then I store them in the fridge.

I heard the door bell ringing, and a customer came. So I went back to work.

The next morning, I woke up at 5 as usual. I brushed my teeth and put on my roller. I head to the kitchen and place 2 slices of bread into my cute little toaster I got for filling my grocery card with the 1-4 bread point stickers.

The toaster is for 450 points, but since I got most of the stickers from grandmitch and friends from work, it didn’t take me a long time to get the toaster. For all that has helped me, thank you very much.

I took out my just made ‘Love Jam’ from the fridge and bring out a clean plate from the cupboard.

The toasts jumped out and landed right on my plate. I gave myself a twirl and took a seat on the table. I opened the jar’s lid and was fully filled with jealousy after seeing how pretty she looks. Without further ado, I use my small wooden spoon and took a spoonful of it.

I spread the jam thinly on my warm toast and hurriedly took a BIG bite… SOO SWEET!!

The white and red heart strawberries made it looked very colorful. The petals are a bit crunchy though. There are a few sour bites because I didn’t crush the strawberries enough. Overall, it was a fair ratio of sweet and sour. So I think adding this to a parfait or an ice cream bowl would be very nice. Mhmm!

After I finished my morning toast, I washed my hands and looked at myself on the bathroom mirror. I place my hand on my face and my skin feels very smooth and silky to the touch. It is as if I’ve consumed a lot of collagen for 2 months straight.

If I were to sell this, I think my female customers would love it. I giggled happily as I kept squishing my soft cheeks.

I headed to my shop floor and set up for the rest of the day. I planned to make batches of ‘Love Jam’s today for tomorrow’s launch. This jam is going to be a success! I just know it!!
