Everywhere I go, whether it’s summer, fall, or spring. Rain will always accompany me on my way.

On any school events such as the sports festival, or cultural festivals, it will always be raining. My name is Ririn, the girl they call a Rain-Bringer.

I had been called a Rain-Bringer ever since kindergarten. And because I bring the rain wherever I go, I've always been uninvited to outdoor parties and will go absent on school festivals.

It didn’t bother me because I didn’t want to make anyone’s day a bad one, but one day, the girls at my class whom I was trying to get close with, told me to get away from them and called me a bad luck.

A lightning appeared from the window and everyone started murmuring in shock after seeing how close and loud the lightning was. The girls looked at me with a bitter expression and walked away, leaving me alone. It started raining heavily then…

I sat back on my table with my lunch in front of me. I looked around my class and saw everyone together… It’s okay, I’m fine. Although I wish that someday, there’s someone who is willing to talk to me…

The last bell rang and it was about time for some of us to go back home or do our club activities. Since I was forced out from most of the clubs, I ended up being in the sewing club. I wasn’t very close to the members there but the leader of the club has been very kind to me.

He gave me a sewing kit as a welcome gift and taught me the basics of sewing and its’ tricks. I don’t want to get any hopes or any expectations from him wanting to be friends with me, so I just thought that he treats the others just the same.

Although i'd like to give him something as a thank you gift for taking care of me.

I looked over the sewing magazine that the leader included in the sewing kit. As I flip over the pages, I saw a cute little jellyfish doll that is made out of white fabric and lace. I want to make it for club leader, but it looks very girly. So maybe i'll just use a light blue base and beige as a side color. Yeah, i think it'll look cute.

Determined, I start making a trial doll first.

I cut the pattern and start sewing little by little. As I continue along the way, I notice there is little red dotted stains on the beige white fabric I use. I looked over my fingers and noticed that I had poked them with my needle.

The leader saw me looking at my fingers in awe and came rushing towards me. He pulled out a small first aid kid and began treating my wounds. He put on band aids over my fingers and told me to be more careful. He looked a bit concerned too…

Since I was never treated like this before, I wasn’t expecting him to give me a concerned face. When he lifted his face up to see me, I avoided his gaze as I feel my face getting a little red.

He grabbed a chair near him and sat next to me. Then he asked me,

‘So, what are you making?’

Flustered by the sudden question, I pointed at the magazine and showed him what I was trying to make. After looking at it a little while, he asked me if I would like him to teach me how to do it.

My face lightened up and I immediately said yes.

Then, we began making the doll again. I followed his steps slowly and was very amazed by how well he teaches. Although, even after his useful tips and ways, the result wasn’t looking as good as I expected it to be. It ended up looking more like an octopus and less like a jellyfish.

He cheered me up and said that I did well. I gave him a small smile and said thank you. But then he asked me,

‘Who are you making this for? Seeing how diligent you were while making it, you must be making this for someone.’
