'Make yourself comfortable.' I said to Mary who had just arrived.
'Thank you. When will i be able to meet him?' She asked, sitting down in front of the iced tea i prepared for her.
'Wait here for a sec, i'll go and call him.'
I walked upstairs and told Julli that she has arrived. He walked downstairs and sat in front of her. I thought that this is probably going to be just in between them so i just took my leave.
Until Mary told me to join in.
'Can i?'
'Well of course! I also prepared a small gift for you as thanks for helping me the other day.'
'Oh..'
I took a seat beside Julli and she took out a long rectangle box covered with purple velvet material. She also took out a small box with a small flower attached on top.
'This is for you and this is for you. Do open them if you're curious to see what's inside.'
We opened out boxes and i got this jar of something that i think is probably jam since it smelt sweet. And Julli got.. a single paintbrush?
'That's right! A paintbrush!'
'Uh..huh?'
'But, this is not just any ordinary brushes you find at stores. This is what we like to call a Changer's paintbrush.'
'Changer's?' (Julli)
'Yes! It's a bit hard to explain but let me demonstrate.'
Mary took a piece of paper from her pocket and put a small dot of paint on the paper.
Looks like she came prepared.
She took a small dot of paint on the paintbrush and drew a straight line. As she was drawing a second line, the second line seemed sharper. The third line was more like a watercolor stroke, and the fourth line looks a lot like a pencil stroke.. what? And didn't she use a small dot of paint only?
'Wow~ that's really amazing..!' Julli said
'Right? Isn't it a lot like a digital pen? You can change the paint's consistency however you like with just a little bit of paint!'
'Can i really have this?' He asked
'Of course! It is all yours to use. It's easy to clean and you can reuse it over and over again for a very long time! But you really don't have to give me anything in return. Your aunt had asked for it to be given to you afterall.'
'My aunt?'
'Yes. She seemed very delighted to know that her niece has been painting a lot. So she reached out to my grandsister and asked for something to give to you as a present! And this paintbrush came to mind!'
'Wow..'
'Though, my grandsister didn't tell me your exact name and appearance and your adress. So i was a bit lost until i met miss Lola. She really helped me deliver this to you.'
'Um, i've been meaning to ask this Mary, but what kind of jam is this? It smells very sweet.'
'Now that you mention it, what's that sweet smell?' (Julli)
I'm surprised Julli didn't notice it until now..
'Oh! It's my newest creation, Jellyfish Jam! If you're pointing about the sweet scent, it must be the nectar i used for the ingredient.'
'Nectar? As in honey?'
'Yes! It's called jellyfish flower nectar. I used about two drops of it for a batch.'
