Christopher J. Cornell was twenty-six and had the type of beauty that made people stop on their tracks. He was tall, slim, with striking blue eyes which emanated intensity, honesty, and gentleness. His black curls fall down his shoulders, shinny and silky. His lips are puffy enough to let you wonder how it would feel to kiss them. His cheekbones prominent but in a strong perfect shape, just like his jaw line. His voice was magnetic to the core and his smile was one of those that came from inside and expanded to his eyes. More importantly, he was also the only hybrid in the entire world born of two vampires, acquiring the nature of his mother, Megan. Opposite to other vampires, Chris aged because he had yet succumbed to the temptation of tasting blood, much to his mother's dismay.
He was brought up in the vampire community, being taught how to reign by his father, Benedict. Chris has learned all the rules of his community, all permissions, and all boundaries too. He learned about their history. Nevertheless, Chris had always felt his purpose in his existence was much more than the world where he had been born and raised and had learned to respect. Although he intended to reign one day as it was his duty, he knew a different path lied ahead of him until then, and so did his parents.
Therefore, he had also studied in the best schools in London learning how to mingle with the humans, but his biggest passion was something else. Ever since his father had played him The Beatles, when he was just a young boy, that his biggest interest turned to music. His parents had never shunned his passion. On the contrary, they fed it by buying him many instruments so that he could learn. It all started with a piano, but Chris quickly found out that it was not for him. Then, Megan bought him a drum set and a guitar and he started learning and practicing and creating melodies that more and more he wished to turn into real music. Music ran in the pure blood inside his veins.
However, there was another matter, as he grew up, that haunted him. The unavoidable pursue of his mate. Even if at times he had tried to ignore the calling that only vampires could feel, it only grew stronger as he matured. There was no use in trying to escape it. When a vampire felt the need to find the mate destined to him, nothing could stop it. A vampire's love was purer and stronger than the love felt by humans. It could only be compared to when a human found their soulmate. Until then, a human could fall in love multiple times, but vampires only fell in love once and it would last an eternity. Though Chris had had some girlfriends, he has always known none of them were the one. The one, he knew, was an ocean apart from him and had no idea of his existence, but he knew about hers.
Pursuing his greatest desire, music, and his quest for love, it came to a point that he knew exactly where to go to attain his aspirations. Somehow, the two were linked and his intuition had called him to a particular location in another continent, and he knew nothing was bigger than a vampire's intuition. The Pacific West in the United States gained an incredible force in his thoughts, constantly pulling his mind to Washington state. Once he got it restricted to one area, he guided his intuition to envision where exactly in Washington he had to go.
Chris moved to Seattle, the Emerald City.
