The night turned cold, rainy, and foggy at the same time. The gusts of wind were shaking away the last leaves from the branches of trees. Sometimes it was strong enough to whistle. The rain was falling steadily since noon. Its sound battering on the windows was even relaxing. Inside the house the atmosphere was warm, young, creative, and festive.

The boys were sitting on a circle with guitars on their lap bonding through music. Mike, Stone, Jeff, and Eddie were all sitting on the floor of Stone's tiny living room trying riffs. Playing songs together for the first time. They were experimenting their vibe together. Mara, Mike's girlfriend was not there. Iris was somehow glad she wasn't for she didn't know how to face the girl after her ridiculous stunt at the Crocodile. She would overcome it though. With the music played by the boys as background, Maggie, Iris and Poppy were gathered in the kitchen, sitting at the old orange table that Stone had brought from a restaurant where Chris used to work. According to him, Chris and Andy owned another exactly like that one. A joint they rolled was being passed around among them though they were already pretty light headed since it wasn't the first one of the evening. The first they shared it with the boys, and the other two they done it by themselves as in the old times.

"So..." Iris started talking as she blew away an enormous cloud of smoke. "Fuck..." She giggled. "I can't smoke anymore. I am going to see two Stones. One is hard to handle, imagine two..." The three girls erupted in laughter. Then, she took a sip of her beer. "I was going to ask you about Eddie..." Iris turned to Poppy. "... where did you meet him?"

"At the beach." Poppy told her, holding her hair in a major bun so it wouldn't bother her anymore. "He ran me over with his surfboard while I was trying to swim." Again, loud laughter.

"Shy as he is, I can imagine how embarrassed he must have been." Maggie said, pulling twice from the major joint that was now between her fingers.

"Don't be fooled by his shyness!" Poppy smiled. "It disappears at the right moments." She winked.

"Oh really?" Iris giggled. "So, it is true what they say about the quiet ones?"

"Shit..." Poppy rolled her eyes, making them laugh loud again. "He is wild and I love it. The first time we did it, I thought I was going to find someone quiet and shy..." Poppy tried to explain in between laughter. "... and he just left me shaking." More laughter.

"Speaking about the quiet ones..." Maggie looked at Iris mockingly.

"NO!" Iris laughed loud, pointing a finger at her while the other two giggled.

"Yes..." Maggie nodded. "Stone is not a quiet one..." Loud laughter echoed again inside the kitchen for the girls were pretty high.

"What the fuck is going on in there?" Stone yelled from the living room. "Is there a party going on?"

"Mind your own business!" Iris yelled back.

"You are my own business, California!" He yelled back and Iris giggled low, shaking her head.

"Fuck... he seems to know when we are talking about him." Maggie said. Then, she looked at Iris again, waiting for an answer.

"He delivers it quite well." Iris affirmed with a smile on her lips.

"Quite well..." Poppy mocked of her use of words that made Iris roll her eyes and Maggie giggled again. "... this means he is fucking good at it."

"Well..." Iris started, then paused and smiled all alone. "... I can't complain." She smiled again.

"When was the first time you two had sex?" Maggie kept inquiring her. "Come on... no more secrets."

"You don't know?" Iris smiled and Maggie shook her head while Iris started giggling like a little girl. "Fuck... my brain is melting..." She complained. Again, loud laughter.
