Her eyelids started blinking as she became aware of the daylight inside the bedroom. Refusing to open her eyes right away and feeling her head pounding a bit, Iris turned around in bed and wrapped the covers around her body. Stone's breathing blowing softly at the back of her neck made her smile, as well as his arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her body close to his. It was on that moment that she managed to open her eyes and find out that the room was not that lightened as it seemed, though it was day already. The day was rather dark though. Carefully, she turned on her back, holding his arm still, avoiding waking him and she stared at the ceiling just waiting for her brain to start functioning. She stretched her body, raising her arms really high trying to shake away the laziness she felt. Then, looking to her left side, Iris took a deep breath as her heart softened. It was not just matinal laziness, it was leaving him even if he was lost in another world. For a few minutes, and she knew he hated it, she watched him sleep. The sound of his breathing heavy and steady as usual and his lips slightly parted still so kissable.
"Jesus..." She whispered, fighting the urge to kiss him.
Iris pulled herself closer and pulled the strand of his hair away from his face, then gently, she kissed the tip of his nose for she knew if she kissed him on the lips it would stir him. Then, she took his hand away from her belly and rested it on the mattress and sat carefully on the bed to slide her feet in her slippers. Without making any noise, she stopped in front of the window and she smiled right away. It must have snowed during the night, after they went to bed. Snow clouds adorned the sky. Gray and silver thick clouds covered the entire sky that morning. The trees were fully clothed in white as if nature had decided for a new fashion style that would fit all. The meadow was covered in a delicate, yet thick, white layer. It was a white canvas with 3D forms. Stunning.
After relishing on the view for a few minutes, Iris reached for her bag and grabbed some clothes and lingerie. She grabbed her black tight Levi's jeans and a vivid pink turtle neck sweater with baggy sleeves that would stretch around her wrists and a cord around the waist to give it some shame. She also grabbed a thick pair of socks and took it all to the bathroom. Her necessaire with her hygiene products was already there from the previous night so she grabbed a rubber band and tied up her hair in a bun so she could start her morning fix. Iris started, as always, by brushing her teeth. Next, she would wash her face with her detox gel and run a cotton with a detox tonic too. That's when she would jump in the shower, which she did. That morning she didn't stay long under the water so she wouldn't make much noise. She just soaked her body, washed it, and closed the water after rinsing it. She didn't skip her moisturizer though and just after, she got dressed. When done, she came back to the mirror to finish her face treatment by putting on her daily creams, but that morning she added the one for the cold so she could protect her skin better. Then, she brushed her hair and tied it up on a high ponytail and finished her hairdo by braiding it.
When she came back to the bedroom, she grabbed her CK boots, ankle size and zipper on the front, and put them on and she also grabbed her black coat. Iris left the bedroom tiptoeing for Stone was still sleeping on the same position as she had left him when she got up. On the hallway, she quickly saw that no one was up yet. The house was silent and all bedroom doors were closed. She went downstairs either way for she needed some coffee. When she got to the kitchen, she realized the coffee machine was on and a full pot was ready. Someone else was up. Iris peeked at the window and she saw Chris, sitting on the porch all alone with a cup of coffee in his hands, enjoying the view and probably the cold. Iris then grabbed a cup from the cupboard and poured some coffee. A full cup, she needed it though she was feeling slightly nauseated. Next, she put her coat on and zipped it and she went outside.
"Hey!" She said as she got out of the kitchen's door. "I thought I was the only one up." Iris smiled at Chris who smiled back at her. "Good morning." She said sitting by his side.
