mavis fluttered her eyes open, she had woken up to the sound of the boys talking. "oh sorry, did i wake you up?" dream asked, still holding her the same way he held her last night. she nodded, and rubbed her eyes.
"what time is it?" her voice was a little raspy. george checked his phone, "it's 11:21," he answered, "do you guys wanna do something soon?" he asked. mavis left dream's arms, "can we go to the mall?" she questioned. "i'm down!" quackity replied.

they finished getting ready and they were off! dream was in control of the car, while mavis was in the passenger seat, leaving the other boys in the back. "why the fuck do i get middle seat?!" george complained, causing mavis to laugh. "sucks to suck!" she stuck her tongue at him.

mavis and george were great friends, they've known each other for a while actually, just not as long as her and dream. george has helped her in so many ways, he was always there for her, whether she needed to vent, or just somebody to talk to. he was basically the big brother mavis never had.

he stuck his tongue at her back, making her smile. she turned around and felt weight on her knee. she looked down to see dream's hand rested there. her face face bloomed into a red shade. she looked outside the window, avoiding eye contact.

the grouped walked in the mall, and mavis immediately spotted a small ice cream store. "guys! can we get ice cream?" she beamed, waiting for their approval. they gave different variations of yes and as they walked up, a sign sat right next to the door.
'couples get free ice cream!'
without a thought, dream held her hand, ready to pretend they were a fake couple. "a let's get free ice cream!" mavis cheered, making him laugh. "what?! i want free ice cream!" sapnap groaned. "too bad karl's not here." george teased, walking into the store.
the rest of the group followed after george, picking their ice cream flavor. they made their way to the cash register, leaving dream a little behind. "that'll be $8.25." the worker chirped. "oh, are you guys still doing the free ice cream thing?" mavis asked. "yeah we are doing it, but nobody here is a couple?" the worker said, scanning the group.
dream overheard and walked over to them, "oh i'm her boyfriend." his arm rested around her shoulder, and he gave her a peck on the cheek. mavis blushed, and the cashier gave in, "alright well then it'll be $6.20." they said. the group of 5 left the store and almost immediately, quackity started, "that was so unfair!!" he groaned.
"boohoo bitch!" mavis laughed. the started to stroll around the mall and they found a small antique store. george, quackity, and sapnap were messing around with mavis and dream scanned the store. "oh hey look! these are promise rings! do you want to share one with me?" dream asked, showing the girl.
her face soften hearing his words, "of course!" she smiled. they bought the rings and they fit perfectly.

"i love it!" she beamed, enveloping him in a hug, giving him a gentle squeeze. he let a small chuckle, "i'm glad you like it." he said, kissing the top of her head. she could feel butterflies swirling in her stomach, she looked up at him, and he leaned in.
