mavis and clay had been best friends since ever. they had so much history behind them, and yes, they did have a crush on each other, but they were pussies. they would never admit their feelings. mavis was a bold person, and so was clay, but the thought of rejection always turned them down.
mavis had almost told him how much she had loved him so many times, but she backed out, not wanting to mess up their strong bond. he had helped her so much. one of the ways was introducing her to new friends, like george, quackity, sapnap, and many others.

"come on mavis! you've got to visit me soon!" quackity groaned. she was currently in UCLA, so she had moved away from clay. "yeah i want to q! i mean, winter break is coming up." the girl replied, pondering about meeting up. "wait mave, you have to visit me first, i haven't seen you for the longest time!" dream pleaded. "what? no! you have to see me and george first! it'll piss of dream!" sapnap teased. "come on, you said you've always wanted to go to the UK." george tried convincing.
it was no use.
"guys! there's enough of me to go around!" mavis laughed at their stupidity. "i know, i just miss you." dream had mumbled, causing mavis to frown. "i miss you too, but it'd be fun if we all met up." she suggested. "i like that idea actually." sapnap spoke truthfully. the group finished arranging plans, and it was decided to meet up all together when mavis had her winter break.
sapnap, quackity, and george left the vc, leaving the pair. "hey can we go on facetime?" dream asked, wanting to spend time with mavis. if dream hadn't asked her, she would've said no, but she couldn't say no to him. "yeah sure, but i look kinda rough right now." she said, rubbing the back of her neck. "it's alright, i don't mind, may." he replied. before she could reply, her phone started ringing and he had left the vc.
she answered the facetime to see him. when she picked up, he smiled, seeing her, "what do you mean you look rough? you look pretty." he said nonchalantly. she was taken back at his bold words, "thanks." she had no clue how to reply. "i'm really excited to see you." she quickly changed the subject. "yeah me too, but i kinda just wanted to hang out with you myself, you know?" he explained. "you are so obsessed with me, i swear!!" mavis laughed. "oh fuck you!" he replied, laughing as well.
"i mean what can i say? i'm irresistible!" the girl cockily said. "who has been feeding you these lies?!" he sarcastically teased. "i hate you." she quickly flipped him off. he scoffed, "you know you love me." he said. her eyes widen at his extremely bold words, "who has been feeding you these lies?!" she mocked. "touché" he replied.
