it was the next morning, mavis woke up on the couch. her tired eyes made its way to the kitchen to see everybody but dream. she let out a relieved sigh and ate some breakfast. "george, how do you even fuck up pancakes?" mavis asked, munching on the new pancakes she made.

"look! i went on twitter for one second and i accidentally burnt them!" george explain, earning laugh from everybody. they continued to have a nice breakfast and then they decided to get ready. mavis cringed as she remembered that all her bags were in dream's room.

her hand reached for the door knob, but the door opened by dream. she looked up at him to see his eyes already on her. he just wanted to give a hug, he noticed her dark circles, and her red eyes from crying."um, excuse me." mavis said dryly, causing him to move.

mavis grabbed her bags and put them in the living room corner. she decided to know just sleep on the couch, which was weirdly comfortable.

"hey guys! i'm going to stream, wanna join?" george asked everybody. they all agreed and joined the smp. mavis let out a sigh, thinking about dream. she didn't want it to be awkward anymore, she had to get over him.

as she was lost in her thoughts, tommy joined the vc. "GUYS!" his loud voice boomed. "oh god- tommy you're going to make my ear drums explode!" mavis complained, with the others humming in agreement.

"i don't give one fuck. what's the secret?! you guys never revealed it!" tommy begged, making everybody confused. "what secret?" dream asked, trying to remember. tommy rolled his eyes in annoyance, "you guys are so dumb, i'm talking about mavis' most recent post. the caption was 'one more day!'" tommy explained.

everybody let out an 'ohhh' as they realized, "we met up!" sapnap beamed. "WHAT?!" tommy shouted, "WITHOUT ME?!" he asked, very offended. the group laughed at him, "why would we invite a gremlin?" dream scoffed. "HEY! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT! YOU'RE LITERALLY-" tommy continued yelling before getting kicked out the vc by dream.

"thanks for doing us justice dream." mavis thanked, which made him smile. it was her first sentence that wasn't so tense towards him. "of course." he said, trying his best to cover up his smile.

they continued playing minecraft for a while, but george decided to end the stream. it was 6:00, and mavis tried to convince the boys to go to the beach with her. "i'm up for it, plus you haven't been to a florida beach in forever, so i think we should go." dream said, finally the others agreeing.

they piled up in the car, george sitting in the middle of mavis and quackity. mavis rested her head against george's shoulder out of boredom. george noticed the weight on his shoulder, but he didn't mind, he never thought of mavis in that way. lucky for him, she felt the same.

but dream didn't know that. he glanced in the mirror to see them, and clenched his jaw. nobody noticed, i mean it was kind of hard to when quackity and sapnap were singing on the top of their lungs. the passed aux around, and when it got it mavis, she played, 'hey there delilah', and they finally calmed down.

they all sang along, peacefully, and it was nice, mavis had never seen the boys so calm. she was actually pretty impressed with quackity's singing, he wasn't bad. everybody swayed to the song, forgetting about all their problems.

as the song ended, dream pulled up to the beach, "we're here!" he chirped. the group set up a small area to watch the sunset, but dream noticed how mavis was always near george. he just wanted her to himself, throughout this whole visit, they've only been together a few times.

he finally gathered enough courage, "hey mavis, can we talk? like alone?" his eyes met hers, and he could see how she was unsure. the guilt of him not confessing followed him every time he saw her.
