~Ally's POV;~

His head tilts to the side whilst his narrowed green eyes fade into a blood red, and as they change so does his face. The veins appear around his cheekbones, his fangs slowly grow out, and he stares at me with nothing but hunger. My best friend is gone. As Stefan pulls away from the wall and bares his fangs, he flashes across the room and appears in front of me, ripping into my jugular with sharp teeth and a long animalistic growl. My lips release a bloodcurdling scream as his teeth tear into my skin and he starts to drink my blood, and he does so until there is not a single... drop... left.

My eyes flutter open as I gasp and shoot upwards, finding myself on the couch in the living room of the boarding house. What happened? Instant recollection falls upon me as I remember the witch Gloria draining my blood in order to kill me, and then her failing to do so when my hero appeared. Stefan. "Morning." His voice suddenly greets loudly from beside me, and as I jump and glance to my left I find him seated opposite me with two dead girls covered in blood. I stare at him with horror as he drops the blonde girls bitten arm, and licks his lips with a look of pure content across his face. "Who are they?" I ask calmly through my disgust and disbelief. "What the hell are you doing?" Stefan shrugs casually whilst wiping the blood from his mouth as he answers with a huge blissful smile "I'm having breakfast. Feel free to join." Disgust and nausea stir deep in the pit of my stomach at the strong smell of blood in the air, and his lack of respect merely forces me to look away from him. "Ease off, brother." Damon warns calmly as he enters the room with a hot drink in hand, and when he finally reaches me his attention focuses with care for my well being. "How're you feeling?" I glance back at Stefan throughout my uneasiness, and watch him as he carelessly brushes his hand over the girls face to close her eyes. This isn't Stefan. My startled expression turns back to Damon as he suggests with his eyes that we leave the room, and with grateful agreement I rise slowly from the couch to follow him out. My legs waver a little as I find my feet, but when I regain my balance Stefan mumbles with a bitter smile "See you at school." Ignoring his snarky comment I walk close behind Damon into the kitchen ahead in attempt to forget about what I have just woken up to, and as we enter Damon turns to me with apologetic eyes.

"This isn't Stefan." I explain whilst urging into the kitchen, unable to hide my feelings of strong concern. "This just isn't him, Damon." He steps closer almost incase I'm about to have a mental breakdown, and as he places his hand on my shoulder he then whispers with sympathetic eyes "I know." After taking the hot coffee with appreciation I walk over to the table and exhale slowly, feeling more pressure weigh down onto my already complicated life. "Are you feeling ok?" Damon asks from over my shoulder with distress in his naturally soothing voice. Calmly I take a sip of the coffee to compose myself, and then with a believable smile I turn to him and answer "I'm fine, a little exhausted, but nothing a cup of coffee can't cure." Damon's gorgeous lips twitch at a smile but his eyes are sympathetic, and they stare right through my façade. "Maybe school can wait till tomorrow," Damon suggests caringly as he leans against the kitchen cabinet with his arms folded across his chest. "You've lost a lot of blood, and it's been a rough couple of days." I can't stay here, not with them dead girls just lying there, and not with Stefan like this. I hate seeing him like this. I need a day away from it. "No, no." I reply whilst setting my coffee onto the side then approaching Damon with a reassuring smile. "I want to go. It's senior year, and after everything I think school will be the perfect distraction." A new school year, and hopefully a better one than last. Damon nods with uncertainty, his blue eyes soft with concern, and his perfectly sculpted lips arrange into half a smile. He's worried about me. "Although you would be a perfect distraction too," I continue with a light grin as I take his hand into mine and squeeze it tight. "But we can get distracted later." Damon smirks and places his hand on the small of my back as he leans in close and teases against my lips "Mm, sounds like a steamy plan." Damon kisses me as his hand remains firm, and protective against my body. His lips brush against mine as a cute chuckle sounds from him, and every problem of ours disappears for a second. After a moment he pulls away and asks with a blissful smirk, his eyes bright and cheerful, "Need a ride?" I lightly shake my head and answer with a reassuring nod "I'm okay. I could do with the fresh air." He tucks an odd strand of hair behind my ear with an anxious look furrowing in his brows, and this instantly urges me to take his hand again. "I'm fine," I explain reassuringly as he frowns and brushes his thumb across my knuckles. "I just need a normal day." As I glance into the living room I take a deep breath and nod encouragingly to myself; a normal day is exactly what I need. "Ally," Damon calls my attention back to him as he stares at me with concern scattered across his face. "We need to talk about this. You have to tell me, honestly, how you're doing-" I glance back at Damon and argue, instinctively repressing all of my bad memories from the last two months, "I can't talk about any of this right now. I just want a day free of the drama, Damon. I'm sorry." The frown of confusion returns to Damon's face again as I take my trembling hand from out of his, and then with desperation to get out of the house I head into the living room.
