Harry had picked me up later that night and we decided we would go to Santa Monica to eat dinner on the pier. Surprisingly it wasn't that awkward as I thought it might be! We held a steady conversation, even if it revolved around how crazy my ex boyfriend was, at least we were talking.

"Thanks for dinner Aubrey, even though you didn't have to!" Harry said as we got up from the table.

"I did though, but no problem"

"Well desserts on me, how about ice cream?" He smiled and walked up to the stand on the boardwalk.

"Yes! I love ice cream"

"Who doesn't! Okay we'll take one chocolate and, what do you want?"

"Vanilla please!"

"And a vanilla" Harry said to the guy at the stand.

"Thanks! Do you want to walk on the beach?" I said as he handed me the ice cream.

"Sounds good"

We made our way down the stairs and walked along the shore. It was the perfect night in Los Angeles.

"Should we sit?" Harry asked as we found a quiet spot on the beach.

"Sure!" I said as we sat on the sand.

"Wow. The sunset is amazing. I must say, I didn't want to move here, but living by the ocean makes me glad we did." Harry said as he stared at the sky.

"It's beautiful isn't it? I've lived here my whole life and it still amazes me."

"So do you always have parties like that?" Harry asked me.

"That's kind of a random question!" I laughed.

"I don't know I was just thinking about it. Like I've never been to a party like that, but I feel like it was so normal for you guys"

"Yeah I do, I guess I just like the company."

"And your just parents let you? Damn they must be pretty awesome."

"Well they're never home. They actually live in New York."

"What?"

"Yeah my dad uh, got relocated to New York City I guess you could say, so they moved there. But it's not like they left me behind, I begged them to let me stay! I didn't want to leave my friends. And my grandma lives her so I convinced them it was fine for me to stay."

"Wow. That must be pretty hard to be here alone."

"Yeah, it gets lonely sometimes. But I always fly there to see them. It's weird because we're actually really close, even though we live on opposite sides of the country! Well at least half the year."

"What do you mean half the year?"

"His job only requires him to be there half the year."

"Oh I see.. My parents are always gone for work too. But we don't have the best relationship so that's fine by me."

"Why?"

"I don't know.. It's just they've always traveled and left me behind. They basically ignore me. They hand me their credit cards so I won't bother them. They never wanted kids, but then they had me and they definitely made me feel unloved!"

"I'm sorry Harry, that's horrible" I said sincerely. We both sat there in silence for a minute.

It made me glad that Harry had opened up to me. I would have never known if he didn't tell me and it made me respect him so much more.

"My dad's Austin Flynn." I blurted out.

"You're kidding?" Harry said surprised.

"Nope."

"Why didn't you tell me before?!"

"I've never told anyone... No one knows."

"Seriously? So why would you tell me!?"

"I don't know.. You opened up to me and.."

"That's awesome" Harry said in disbelief.

My dad, Austin Flynn, is the quarterback for the New York Giants football team. People say he's one of the best in the NFL. He used to play for San Francisco, so that's why I live here, but last year when he got traded to the Giants, I begged my parents to let me stay because my whole life is here. I really didn't want to leave my friends before my senior year in high school. Malibu is my home.

"So why haven't you told anyone?" Harry asked me, still trying to take in everything I just told him.

"I didn't want people to just be my friend because my dad is famous. Thanfully its not that hard because Flynn is a pretty common last name" I admitted.

To be honest, I wasn't even planning on telling Harry, but the way he opened up to me really made me feel close to him. I just felt like I could trust him. I've known him for a few days and I already consider him a good friend. Hopefully I won't regret telling him.

"That's smart. Well just so you know, I thought you were cool before I knew who your father was." Harry laughed.

"Well thanks Harry!" I laughed. "You're pretty cool, too" I smiled and looked at him.

"Well it's getting pretty late, we should probably get going" Harry said. We both hopped up and shook the sand off our bodies and walked back to his car.

"Do you want to come over? We can watch a movie or something!"

"Uh sure.." He said.

"I just thought we'd both be going home to empty houses, so why not!"

"No, it sounds nice" he said as he took the turn to get to my house.
