Levi and Hange had left several hours early to return back to the secret hideout where Eren and the others were staying. It happened so quickly that Levi and I barely had time to exchange our goodbyes. Hange had a certain urgent energy about her when I watched them depart from the courtyard at dawn.

After a quick shower and meal in the mess hall, I dressed in uniform and gear, prepared for the day. The atmosphere around the Trost Barracks continued to feel off. I noticed more MPs walking around as I made my way to Erwin's. It was unusual to have so many Military Police around and this time I wasn't about to shake it off. I wonder if Erwin caught wind or if something is happening.

As I approached Erwin's office, he was walking out of the door. I quickened my pace to catch up with him, before greeting him with a 'good morning'.

"Ah, good, you're here. Walk with me," He greeted, starting to walk down the hallway.

I followed him, noticing each soldier that walked by us; Scouts, Garrison, and more MPs. Few ignored us, others saluted, and some would whisper to themselves as they passed. I did my best to ignore every one of them as we walked. After venturing through a few hallways, we found ourselves in the open courtyard of the barracks. The road was filled with soldiers performing their daily duties and the sound of various conversations flooded the air.

"Emily, I need you to stay alert," Erwin whispered, standing tall near me.

I glanced up at him to find him staring at something in the distance. When I traced where he was looking, I noticed a group of MPs staring back in our direction.

"I don't have time to explain, but you need to find Levi and give him this," his voice was low and he quickly slipped me a folded piece of paper.

"Leave now. Head north and you should find them. Don't be seen," he urged.

I nodded, and quickly departed from his side, dipping into a nearby alleyway to assess the situation further. After about a minute, I noticed the group of MPs that had been watching us were now approaching Erwin. It didn't take long for me to realize they were detaining him.

Covering my head with my cloak, I quickly made my way to the stables to retrieve a horse. It didn't take long to saddle up a horse and be off. I kicked my heels to urge the horse to a gallop, weaving through the streets of Trost until arriving at the gate. Before long, I was heading northbound in a full sprint on horseback. What could they possibly be detaining Erwin for? Why was Hange so urgent this morning? Something wasn't right.

---

A couple hours on horseback, I came upon a cabin along a dirt road. It was relatively remote, only surrounded by a large field and many trees. A small creek was downhill from where the cabin stood.

"This has to be it..." I muttered to myself.

Looking around me to check for any evidence of being followed, I urged the horse to run to the cabin. Within seconds, I quickly jumped from the horse and opened the door to see the entire squad congregated at a dining table.
