Historia's crowning was a eventful celebration that was easily and graciously accepted by the people. Our country has a new queen. Citizens from all the districts attended and word spread quickly about her heroic tale in dealing the final blow with her father, saving Orvud in the process.

We finally found some temporary peace. Several of us in the Scouts had traveled to the Capital to witness Historia's crowning.

It was a rainy day and the Scouts who traveled to the Capital held a proper funeral service for our fallen comrades from the 57th expedition and survey expedition to search for the breach of Wall Rose. To my surprise and grief, I learned of Miche Zacharius' passing. Miche and I weren't close by any means, but he was a superior officer I respected. I had trained with him a few times when I first joined the Scouts. He was part of the survey expedition of Wall Rose and never returned. Then came the conclusion that he didn't make it.

I bowed my head in front of the plaque set for Miche to pay respects. After a brief moment, I silently walked down the aisles of stone plaques; Reading each of the names until I found Petra's. Feeling a tug at my heart, I knelt down, staring at her name etched into a slab of stone.

"Hey, Petra... it's been a while," I said, speaking to no one in particular, "Boy if you were here, though. We'd have so much to talk about."

I winced, gripping the fabric of my green trench coat between my fingers. The rain started to soak my hair and through my clothes. I watched the droplets of water trickle down through each crevice and crack of the wet stone slab.

Images of Petra came to mind. The way her short strawberry blonde hair always fell perfectly into place. Her warm amber eyes and how easily they lit up with excitement. How we stayed up late talking about our achievements and aspirations or to gossip. She was my closest friend in the military. I couldn't have had a better bunk mate.

I lost track of how long I have been sitting in front of Petra's plaque. The cemetery had fallen silent as people left. The soft thuds of boots against the stone pathway came to a stop near me. I glanced up to see Levi staring down at the plaque. His black hair hovered over his eyes. His hands were shoved into the pockets of his trench coat.

"She was a great soldier..." I murmured.

"She was," Levi agreed.

"I remember when she told me she was assigned to your squad. She was so excited but also worried about disappointing you. She was all-in."

He didn't respond. Petra was very much an all-or-nothing person. She would always find a way to cheer me up or talk me out of any doubts I had about myself. She gave it her all in whatever she was involved with or assigned to. I admired her for that. I wonder what she would think if she knew I had fallen for Levi.
