Godric, who was pretty much your best friend, and you had spent the last week shopping and making sure you had everything for your prom (don't worry, you're 18 lol). You were going with your group of friends and were overly excited, having invited Godric to help you pick out a dress and everything.

But everything went down hill when 7:00pm came and no car pulled down your driveway to pick you up on Prom night. You had tried calling your date and texting your friends but no one answered. After a while, you realized no one was coming.

You sighed heavily as you sat on the steps of yours and your older sister, Sookies, house. Her, Bill, and Eric were all at Bill's discussing something important, having no idea you sat here all by yourself.

You played with your phone in your hand for a little bit, debating on calling Godric or not. You decided not to since you figured he'd be busy with his Sheriff duties, and you didn't want to bother him.

Sadly, you sighed once more in disappointment as tears formed in your eyes. How could your friends do this to you? Just stand you up like this? On Prom night? Well, now, you realized they were never really your friends.

"Y/N?" came Godric's confused voice as he walked towards the steps, to you. "What are you doing here, sweetheart?"

You licked your dry lips and answered bluntly, "They stood me up. All of them."

"I am so sorry." Godric spoke softly as he sat on the steps beside you. "I do not know why they would. You are a wonderful girl, and you look very beautiful tonight." he complimented.

Even though you were sad, frustrated, upset and everything in between, a blush managed to find its way to your face.

"Thank you, Godric." you said quietly as you rested your head against his shoulder, his arm going around your waist. He placed a soft kiss on your head and then an idea popped into his.

"Why don't I take you out? It would be a shame to waste such a pretty outfit by staying home." Godric offered with a smile.

"You don't have to." you sniffled as you lifted your head from his shoulder to look at him.

"Nonsense." he said and stood up, offering his hand to you. "M'lady." This caused a smile to form on your face as you placed you hand in his. He pulled you up and began walking towards your car.

"I will take you anywhere you want to go." he said as you handed him the keys.

"Anywhere that isn't here is perfect right now." you replied with a sad smile and slipped into the passenger seat as Godric got into the drivers.

You threw your head back with a laugh at something Godric had said, and this caused him to smile. When he found you all alone on the steps, his dead heart broke. Who in their right mind would stand a beautiful girl like you up? Those people didn't deserve you and he was going to make sure you completely forgot about them.

As your laugh died down, you took another scoop of ice cream into your mouth.

"Mmm. Now, hypothetically speaking, if you could be an ice cream flavor, what flavor would you be?" you asked Godric, who sat across from you in the booth at an old ice cream parlor in town.

When you had first walked in, the waitress thought you and him were here because you skipped the Prom together, but then she saw he was dressed in all white, more casual clothes, and you were dressed in well, your Prom dress. She then realized that maybe you had been stood up and he was taking you out to help. Or maybe she could just read minds like Sookie and listened to the thoughts in your head? Who knows.

"Hmm. Now, I think I would say Mint Chocolate Chip. It's like a breath of fresh air, and you can't get enough of it." Godric answered with a smile and then added, "Just like me."

You smiled and nodded your head. "I agree. For me, I think I would be Vanilla soft serve. I may not look like much, but I'm so smooooooth." you said, elongating the word 'smooth'.

Godric let out a small laugh and shook his head ar your answer. He watched as you took another spoonful of ice into your mouth before speaking again.

"I am truely sorry for what happened to you tonight. I do not know what was going through their minds when they did it, but I know I would never do that to you." he admitted softly.

A blush spread across your face at his words and you grabbed his hand that rested on the table, interlacing your fingers with his.

"Godric, you have nothing to be sorry for. At first, I was upset that they did this to me. But when you showed up, I was glad they did. I got to go on a date with you. And you helped me forget about everything that was going on. So, thank you." you said and gave his hand a squeeze.

"Y/N I-" Godric started but you cut him off.

"I really like you Godric. If it's not weird...could we do this again some time?" you asked nervously.

Godric offered you a small smile and he gave your hand a squeeze this time. "Yes. I would love to go on more dates with you. I uh-" he started and scratched the back of his neck with his free hand, "Was actually just going to confess that I liked you, as well."

You smiled and the blush remained on your cheeks as you looked into his green eyes.

"Thank you for everything, Godric. And I look forward to more dates." you said with a cheeky smile and began to eat your ice cream again.

Godric was almost flustered at your forwardness but he loved it nonetheless. He loved you. And being with you right now was the most important thing to him.
