{Chapter 17}

Third Pov

The next clone that appeared inside one of the buildings next to Megumi, nearly dispersed as an arrow flew towards her and was caught by one of his frogs. Due to being already informed by her technique he wasn't fazed by her sudden appearance.

Noritoshi:"*smile* You can call more than one shikigami at a time right? I can't say I appreciate you holding out on me like that. Also, demon or not, I'm not sure how you got here so fast Xuèxīng. But coming here was a mistake, as I plan on killing you here and now"

(Y/n):"Hm. Well first off thanks for the save Megumi"

Megumi:"Don't mention it"

(Y/n):"Second, I'm sorry but I can't accept that"

Noritoshi:"Eh, what?"

Kamo, and even Megumi, was a bit taken aback by the girl's forwardness but still kept their guards up.

(Y/n):"Frankly, if I'm gonna be honest, I really don't care if I live or die. But neither you, the higher-ups, or those classmates of yours deserve the right to kill me. If anyone's gonna deem me as a threat and kill me in the end, I'd rather it be friends and family. So yeah, I'm gonna have to decline your proposal"

Though neither of them showed it, Kamo and Megumi became more unnerved by her demeanor. Outside she was calm, but the aura they felt around her was anything but that. They then looked at her in confusion as she began forming her fingers into guns and moving them around.

Noritoshi:"What exactly are you doing?"

(Y/n):"Trying figure out how that lady friend of yours held her gun.....let's see....Oh, it was this way wasn't it. Bang"

Kamo's eye sprang open as she aimed her fingers and a stream of cursed energy came flying and cut the side of his cheek, while destroying the walls behind him. 'That energy, was so fast.' Kamo thought, if he didn't move his head for even a millisecond she could have killed him. This was the reason, the reason why he had to kill her. If she's generating this much curse energy, who what she'd be like in the future.

Megumi:"Um (Y/n), you realize you could have killed him just now right?"

(Y/n):"Oh...really...my apologies I guess"

Kamo wasn't sure why the girls comment made him severely irritated, maybe because he felt no sincerity in her voice at all, either way he lunged and started attacking both her and Megumi. Who had used the sticks he was holding to brace his attack while (Y/n) leaped into the air before landing perfectly.

Megumi:'Was I too small to defend with curse energy? Even if that is a clone, (y/n) was able to dodge that attack without breaking a sweat. Such power and speed, it's like their both completely different people now'

Noritoshi:"The manipulation of blood isn't limited to just shape and motion. Body temperature, pulse, red blood cells, and all the other components of blood are all mine"

Megumi:"So your doping"

Noritoshi:"Very astute. But there's no need to use such a layman's term"

(Y/n):"You can control blood, I can too. Though only when I'm in my demon form"

Noritoshi:"*glare* Let's see if you can use it before I'm finished with you"

Each of them clashed against each other until Kamo managed to push Megumi back while (Y/n) still kept her distance.

Noritoshi:"Shikigami users who can fight this well in close combat are precious. You've improved, I'm glad to see it"

Megumi:"Why do you keep acting like there's some sort of fellowship between us"
