Naruto pov

It takes me a day and a half to get to the destination Gaara gave me. It's a cave with a small opening in a cliff, but if you go inside it's HUGE~. It's a wide open space with a bunch of stalactites at the top, some of them go all the way to the floor.

There's a pretty large pond in the middle with crystal clear water, on the right of it, there's a small rock formation that has a mini waterfall. There's a few plants and moss growing all around the place. "Woah" Kurama then appears in his human form and looks around whistling.

"This is amazing !!" "Damn right it is" "when do you think Gaara will get here ??" "I don't know kit, maybe in a few hours" "yeah" I drop my bags and start stretching a little "you should get some rest kit, I'll wake you when he comes"

I nod once and yawn, he shifts into a really large fox and lays down on the ground. I drag my feet over to him and collapse on his tails using them as a bed, I feel him lay his tail on me to use as a blanket making me smile softly and feel safe, somthing I haven't felt in a really, really long time.

I slowly drift off to sleep only to wake up about four hours later to something licking my face. I furrow my brows and turn around to fall back to sleep, but, whatever it is just jumps over me and starts licking me again. I grunt and slowly flutter my eyes open.

I look up to see a small dirty blond and black racoon. I sit up on my elbows while I rub my eye with my hand "hello cutie, who are you ??" I reach over and try to pet it only for my hand to be smacked away by a clawed paw "WHO YOU CALLING CUTE HUH !?!?" I jump and yelp a little.

The small raccoon sighs before asking "Are you Naruto ??" "Uhh .... y-yes ??" "I'm Shubaki, Gaaras summoning, he asked me to give you this" he turns around showing me a folded paper tied to his tail. I slowly reach over and grab it before unfolding it and reading out loud.

Naruto

I won't be able to run away with you for I have a mission, I think us spending time together made my father suspicious, he's ordered more ANBU to look over me. If you've arrived already, please send me a response with Shubaki, I'll be waiting. Be safe and take care

Gaara

I frown a little and look over at Kurama with a slight pout "I wanted him to come" "I know Naruto, send him a reply" I nod and quickly take out a piece of paper and a pencil. I think about what I want to say, tapping the pencil on my chin, before I start writing.

Gaara

I'm sorry to hear that, I can't help but feel guilty about this, I'm really sorry, and yes, I'm already here, this place is BEAUTIFUL, how did you ever find it ?? I hope you get the chance to leave soon, I will be safe now that I'm here, take care as well

Naruto

I fold the paper and carefully attach it to Shubaki's tail, then I smile down at him "do you want any food or water before you leave again ??" "Yes please" I nod and pull out a scroll from my backpack. I unroll it allowing some dried fruits and nuts to appear in a small pile on top of the scroll.

He starts eating as I walk over and grab some water in a bowl, I walk back over and set it down beside him as he eats, once finished, he thanks me and starts running off again. I then turn towards Kurama "now what Kura ??" "We'll lay low for about a month and then start your training, for now, get some much needed rest" I nod and walk over collapsing on his tails again.
