"Hi Jasmine, please unassign the remainder of Amira's consults and have her meet me in the boardroom as soon as possible. Thank you." Arya ended the call, not needing a response or confirmation from Amira's assistant. This was the last task she had for the day before she could head home. After explaining the situation to her executive team, the official investigation had been launched and what's left is for her to meet with Arya and the Human Resources Director.
Turning off her work phone, Arya gathered everything she would need and left out of her office to head to the boardroom. Giving a small smile to her associate, she took the seat next to her and waited for Amira to arrive.
"Despite the circumstances, I want to congratulate you on the upcoming wedding. You deserve to be happy, and I'm really excited for you. It's good seeing the woman who built the system finally getting her turn." Arya smiled at the woman, appreciating her words. She had dove straight into work after lunch, not wanting to think about the meeting that happened. She hasn't quite grasped that the idea of her getting married has quickly become reality.
"Thank you. I really appreciate it. With everything going on it's a lot to process, but I'm very optimistic about everything."
"Ry, you wanted to see- whoa, this looks serious." Amira spoke while walking into the conference room. Arya cleared her throat, blocking her emotions out so that she could address Amira as an employee and not a sibling.
"Please, have a seat Ms. White." Olivia spoke up, motioning to the other side of the table. Amira took a seat, nervously looking between her sister and the HR Director.
"This is regarding the situation of you utilizing your access to take a high profile candidate account out of inactive status without authorization. In doing so, you violated multiple company policies as well as breaching the client's privacy. Considering the steps taken into doing so, we've had to move forward with launching an official investigation into the matter. Your access has been removed, and you will not be allowed onto property until the investigation has been completed. We ask that you read over and sign the suspension documents. The last two pages are blank to give you the opportunity to write a statement regarding the incident at hand." Olivia cut straight to the chase, sliding the documents across the table for Amira to review.
Amira never imagined that her sister would escalate the situation. She was aware of what she had done, but she was sure that her sister would just take her word for things like she's always done. Never would she imagine that her job would be at jeopardy over this. She still had a few months to save before her fiancé's transfer. Flipping to the last page she quickly signed her signature and slid the papers back across the table.
"We will need your badge and keys as well." Arya spoke up, noticing the emotions in her sister's eyes. She wanted more than anything to console her, but she knew this wasn't the time or situation for it. Being that Amira is being placed on suspension, she wouldn't be able to discuss the matter with her at all until the investigation has been concluded.
