"You slept with him?" Danica was in disbelief that Arya would sleep with Ethan so soon after everything that had transpired with them getting into a relationship. Even though she was surprised with her friend's actions she was happy to see her letting loose and living.
"I know. I surprised myself too, but it was amazing. I'm just hoping that I'm not letting the excitement of getting married overcloud my better judgement. Im already overlooking things that would be a dealbreaker for me because I don't want to ruin my experience." Arya had been picking up on everything that didn't match Ethan's profile. She knew he wasn't that interested in being matched and figured that might be the reason he didn't answer his assessments as honestly, but even so with the preferences that were noted on his profile it shouldn't have matched with her profile.
"Are you regretting it?" Danica questioned, noticing the uncertain look on Arya's face.
"I don't regret anything. I'm just concerned. I'm growing attached too fast, but the closer I get to him the more nervous I become about this investigation. What if he and Amira really did do something shady? I don't know how I'd handle that. I've been around this man everyday this week and I can't go much longer without speaking to Amira. I know I'm in denial, but the selfish part of me wants to enjoy this for as long as I can."
"It's only going to hurt worst. You know that right?" Arya nodded her head, still not ready to accept what was right in her face.
"I know. I don't want to acknowledge anything until I have the proof. The investigation is still going, so until then I'm not going to treat either of them like they're guilty. I don't even want to think about it." She knew the risk she was taking, and is well aware that if it turns out that her gut is correct then she's going to beat herself up even more for allowing it to get as far as it has.
"Don't think about it then. Just enjoy your self for now. I'll be here if we need to go put some spikes in his tires." Arya released a laugh, knowing she'd never do anything like that. She hadn't thought about what she'd do if she found out everything was a lie and she didn't want her mind going to a negative place by overthinking.
"He's going to be here in about ten minutes or so. He's extremely punctual."
"Well that's good. That was one of the main issues with Drew." Danica spoke, mentioning Arya's ex.
"Don't even get me started on the poster boy for red flags. There's no comparing the two. I do believe I can work around Ethan's hang ups. I'm willing to compromise for the sake of happily ever after."
"I have high hopes for you two. I do see you opening up a different side of yourself with him and it's barely been a week, so I do believe that you two will be able to overcome whatever transpired to get you two together."
"I hope so." Arya mumbled while checking the time on her phone.
"Phone down. Let me get a few pictures of you before I leave." Sitting her phone down, Arya posed for a few pictures before the sound of her doorbell interrupted her mini photo shoot.
