"Can you listen to my vows and tell me if they sound okay?" Arya looked up from the stove and looked at Ethan like he was crazy.
"No. They're supposed to be a surprise to me."
"Yeah, but we're already married so you should be able to hear them."
"For one, we've only been legally married for a few hours. Two, if I hear the vows we're definitely not doing the ceremony. You better call up Elijah." Ethan pulled out his phone, quickly dialing Elijah's number.
"What's up, bro?"
"Can you listen to my vows since Arya won't?" Elijah burst out laughing, bringing a slight smirk to Arya's face.
"She's not supposed to hear your vows, dumbass. That's like asking the client to check over the proposal before you present it to them. Arya basically the client right now." Arya wasn't really trying to eavesdrop, but due to how high the volume was on Ethan's phone, she was able to hear everything Elijah was saying. She was trying her best to hold her laugh in, but she wanted Ethan to see how ridiculous his request was and from the sound of it Elijah was explaining it to him in the best way.
"Come over tonight and help me then. Wifey cooking." Ethan extended the invitation and watched how quickly Arya's smirk wiped off her face. He knew she didn't like doing last minute anything because she needed a period of time to overthink things. She flung one of the oven mitts at him before turning back to the stove to see how much more she needed to add to have enough food.
"Babe?" Ethan called out once he was off the phone. Arya ignored him and pulled out her phone to send Danica a invite via text. Ethan moved to stand behind Arya, reading the text over her shoulder.
"Eli got a crush on her."
"You think so?"
"Yeah, he told me. Aren't you the matchmaker? You should have seen the signs." Arya sent the text and turned around to face Ethan.
"What's with you terrorizing me today? The vows are the most important part of the marriage. I want you to move me with your words, touch my spirit and my soul. Speak from your heart and the vows will be perfect. Now stop picking with me." Ethan wrapped his arms around her waist, grabbing a hold of her ass in the process.
"It's exciting seeing you riled up."
"Until I stop speaking to you, so watch yourself. I'm in need of a girl's night out anyways. I have this really cute outfit that I've been dying to wear."
"You seriously want to go out tonight?" Arya shrugged in response. She was just saying it to tease him, but the idea didn't sound bad at all. It had been a minute since she'd had a night out and after the chaos of a family dinner she wanted nothing more than to doll herself up and go dancing.
"It's not a bad idea." Ethan nodded his head and pulled his phone out.
"Call your girl and tell her the plan. I'll hit up Eli now." Ethan spoke while walking off to call Elijah. Arya nodded and decided to just call Danica instead of texting her to let her know that they would be going out instead of staying in. She quickly finished up the food she was cooking and fixed a plate for herself and Ethan. She knew if they were going to be drinking tonight then they would need to eat first.
