"At this point you can see him pull out what appears to be a checkbook. We were able to zoom in as far as we could, but due to the angle of the camera we're unable to see the exact amount that was written. Less than five minutes after the check was written your profile was unlocked and placed into active status and the match was created by a scenario match." Arya's face remained blank as she took in all of the information.
A scenario match meant their profiles would have never been in the same category, as she had already guessed. Scenario matches were used for training purposes only. Scenario matches were never done on active profiles and when done the system will highlight every discrepancy on why the two profiles wouldn't work. This was only used for training to show what the system looks for when it comes to matching, and it was always done with inactive profiles so there wouldn't be a chance for a forced match which is what she's in now.
Arya watched as her IT director displayed her and Ethan's profile, highlighting all the reasons why the two weren't a match. Half the reasons up there Arya had already noticed from being around Ethan, she just didn't take them as a deal breaker because his positive qualities outweighed these preferences for her. Now she sat in disbelief for letting herself ignore what was right in her face.
"What options do I have?" Arya questioned, turning to her company's lawyer.
"You can pull out of the contract and in turn forfeit the full amount of services and be blacklisted from the system. It's going to be difficult to treat you as a client when you're the owner of the company, but the moment you signed the contract you became a client."
"However, this relationship between you and Mr. Christensen is very public. We're not going to be able to just simply end this relationship without the company taking a bad publicity hit. The spike in numbers and advertisement requests are all a result of your relationship with Mr. Christensen. Everyone loves to see the love guru in love. It makes them ten times more likely to pay for our services. I don't want you to feel like we're pressuring you to stay in this relationship. We'll eventually recover, but I'm predicting we will see a huge hit as far as clients, stocks and advertisers go." Samira, the company's Public Relations Manager spoke up.
"Do I have time to think about this? I wasn't expecting to hear any of this."
"Of course! We'll all meet again on Monday to discuss this. That gives you the entire weekend to weigh out your options." Olivia assured Arya. Arya wasn't sure that two and a half days would be enough to weigh out her options. She had several people she needed to talk to, and two that she needed to confront. She knew she didn't have the emotional capacity to do all of this in two days.
"Thank you all for your time and assistance. Olivia, please send out the meeting request as soon as you can. I'll see you all on Monday." Arya spoke before standing up and making her way out of the conference room. She didn't even bother stopping by her office. She made her way straight to the elevators and once she was in her car she called the person she always went to for advice.
