Shoyo read the address of the letter multiple times before asking,
"Why do they know where my bedroom is? And who is this from?"
Shoyo's mom sighed, " Shoyo, dear, remember the conversation we had like a month ago about wizards."
"Oh yeah! Natsu and I saw like six owls today."
"See! And since it's daytime, they are most likely from the wizarding world." Shoyo's mom said enthusiastically.Shoyo glanced back at the letter in his sweaty hands,
" Wait... I get to go there?"
Shoyo's mom pinched the bridge of her nose,
"Yes, sweetie."Shoyo's eye's widened, " No way! I get to do magic! Do I go This September?"
" Yes, Shoyo.""Shoyo, read it aloud, please." Natsu requested,
"Sure."Shoyo cleared his throat, " Dear Mr. Hinata, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than July 31.
Yours sincerely, Minerva McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress."A few moments passed before Shoyo burst out, panicked.
" I don't have an owl, and July 31 is in a couple of days! How am I possibly going to get an owl?!"
"Shoyo, dear, calm down. I'm sure we will find a way." His mother soothed.
Natsu spoke up, " What if we just got close to those owls outside and asked them nicely?"
" You know, Natsu, that's not a bad idea." Their mom said as she scratched her fluffy, orange hair."Ok, I'll do that! But what about the supplies? I don't think you can take me because you're not a witch mom; remember you said that." Shoyo voiced.
Again Shoyo's mom scratched at her neon hair,
"Well, put that in the letter when you write it tonight so that you can give it to an owl tomorrow."
" Ok, mom, you're the best!" Shoyo yelled, starting to get up from the table,
" Oh no, mister, you finish your dinner first." She said, pointing to the remaining four hot pockets,Shoyo reluctantly sat back down on the retro chair, grabbing the most petite hot pocket, and silently munched.
"Mom, why can't I go this year," Natsu asked teary-eyed at the thought of Shoyo leaving her,
Shoyo's mother picked up Natsu, hugging her, " Oh sweetie, it'll be okay; Shoyo will only be there for the school year. He won't be there forever, and besides, you're too young to go."
" O-Okay." Natsu sniffed.Shoyo soon finished his dinner and ran to his room after being dismissed. His room was small, messy, and cluttered, with one window facing the street with its broken lamp hanging sadly. His bed was against the wall with the window; he loved to gaze out the window and smell the fresh, blooming flowers in the spring, smell the barbecues happening around town in the summer, and watch each leaf fall from the giant ancient oak tree in his yard in autumn and even watching each unique flake fall on Christmas Day, smelling the hot cocoa from the kitchen. The only thing occupying his room was a bed, dresser, and desk with clothes littered around it.
He immediately pinned the letter to his wall, knowing he would remember it for the rest of his life. Shoyo sat down at his black, wood desk, ripping a piece of paper from his old school notebook. Grabbing a pencil from his color container, he started the letter,
' Dear Minerva McGonagall, I will be attending Hogwarts this year; however, I will need help getting supplies as my mom is a muggle and she can't go. Please help me!'
Shoyo was about to sign the letter when he added,
'Also, how will I get to Hogwarts? I can't drive or fly or whatever you guys do. Thanks! Sincerely, Shoyo Hinata'
Shoyo smiled to himself at his letter, he had never written a letter to anyone, and his grades in writing weren't excellent, but this was enjoyable for him.
"Mum!! I finished my letter. Can you proofread it" Shoyo begged, sprinting through the kitchen obstacles,
"Sure, honey." She said wearily, grabbing the paper from Shoyo.Soon laughter rang out from the dining room,
"Shoyo honey, this is..." she burst out laughing again, wiping away tears. "This is hilarious. I think they'll find it funny. It shows your personality; otherwise, your spelling and grammar are fine, so let me get you an envelope, and you can send it in the morning."Shoyo was bouncing on his toes as his mom walked back to the dining room with an envelope in hand.
"Here, sweetie, let me address it; otherwise, they won't be able to read it." Shoyo's mother joked. She handed him the letter back after addressing it to Hogwarts in her most admirable writing possible.
" Thanks, mom!" Shoyo exclaimed.
"Shshshsh, Natsu's already asleep, and you better be soon too."
"Sorry, thanks, mom goodnight!" He whispered.Shoyo tiptoed past Natsu's room back to his own and slowly closed the door, trying to be silent. When his door was fully closed, he silently jumped around in circles exploding with excitement. Settling down again, he placed the letter delicately on his desk and hopped into his bed, snuggling under the cool sheets and cold pillow.
Yet he couldn't fall asleep, knowing his life would change very soon and yearning for September to roll around.
