Viewed by both the Accord and Loyalists as terrorists, they are a rag-tag group of fighters that solely want to free their country from control. Formed by independent Filipinos that grew tired or have survived the Civil War, they were, at first, a civilian-based group that had little-to-no combat training, mostly relying on protests and vandalisms to show their distaste of the governments. This results them to become easy targets for the military to suppress and kill, keeping them in line from deviating the status-quo. As peaceful options grow weak, the Katipunan were in the brink of disbanding... only to be saved by one man who decides to lead and take drastic measures: Phil Elias.

From my high school and military years, Phil's been famous for all the wrong reasons as many view him to be crazy and delusional, even shocked that he's opposing the two governments. Plus the fact that he hasn't been across the border to protest the Loyalist side shows doubt on his views. Even still, the Katipunan keeps him as leader since he still keeps the movement alive.

How they got to the point of becoming a major threat is up in the air... but on 2014, when they start committing robberies on less-defended convoys by the US and the Accord, they've acquired the help of an arms dealer that has a history of supplying weapons to both criminals and terrorists. It may be a bad thing for them but he now does official deals with the government, turning over a new leaf to help. Now you may be asking: how do I know this guy and why does he sound familiar? There's a reason for that because the arms dealer in question is none other than Matt Novakov, CEO of Novakov Munitions...

"... and the de facto leader of the Katipunan." I tell them calmly as I quickly snag my M17 back from the confused Kasey and hand her an M1911 as a replacement.

After telling them the brief history of the Katipunan, I finally holster my M17 and look at them with their shocked expression (Mainly Kasey's as Deathwatch is hard to figure due to his mask).

"So you now understand why I need to do this mission for my comrades? Yes?" I ask them with seriousness as I await for their response.

As Kasey gets it through her head, she responds, "Well that explains why he wants the bloody footage from me."

Seeing her response, I turn to look at the assassin as he looks up with a sigh, sensing his bit of disappointment as he now knows who his clients are. Although the Katipunan may not be financially-equipped to pay him for his services, surely he would be fine if Novakov Munitions will be the ones to pay him.

Afterwards, he turns to me as he firmly holds his EBR and ask, "If that's the case, surely the Katipunan would be the ones operating this mission? Right?"

I calmly shook my head as I glance at Kasey realizing that her pistol was switched to the 1911.

"Ang mga ito, talaga. (They are, actually.) The group you've met at the cafeteria were Novakov's handpicked истребители (fighters), primarily motivated to free their country... and also serve under him." I inform Deathwatch as he scoffs at it.
