He looked up at the sky and let out a sigh once again. He had been there for long, leaned on his bike, staring up at the dark sky for a while now. He'd never been like this. Never.
He was a distant and somewhat cold person in everyone's eyes who could make you piss yourself with just one scary look. Yet, the people who knew him, actually knew him, they knew that was not true. He was not a scary gang leader. He was just a plain, awkward man who was bored of normal life and whose social tendencies were just as bright as the clear, starless sky above. He was not scary or rude or monstrous. He was just him. And emotionless teaspoon, in June's humble opinion.
But now, he felt things. He felt happy and laughed. He felt scared and unsure. He felt like having a heart. He felt love.
With yet another sigh, he got on his bike.
What was done, was done. Now, the ball was in Kao's court. So was Thada's heart. It was up to him now, whether he breaks that fragile brute's newly found heart or replaces it with his own.
Once back home, he parked his bike. He'd walked out of the garage with his hands in his pant pockets and stopped dead in his tracks. Frozen.
"Kao..."
And sure enough, there he stood, leaned against the entrance doorframe of his apartment complex, looking his innocent and ethereal self, that always stopped Thada's heart.
Kao blinked and looked up, straightening when he spotted Thada. He bit on his lower lip, his wide, chocolate brown, doe eyes wide open, anxiety and insecurity evident in them.
"Hey..." was all he could say, his voice almost an inaudible whisper.
Thada gulped. This was it...
With a tight smile, he walked up to Kao, hands clenched in his pant pockets. "Hey Chipmunk, why are you standing out here?"
"Em... just, couldn't go upstairs" Kao chuckled nervously and hugged himself. "Had no courage" he said in a small tone.
Thada pursed his lips seeing how nervous and unsure Kao looked. "So... you planned to stand here all night?"
"And mop. Yeah" Kao chuckled uncomfortably, not meeting Thada's eye.
Thada tilted his head, staring intently at his adorable chipmunk who was so aware of the look. Thada sighed. This was more awkward than he ever felt in his entire life and that was saying something for him.
"Whatitmeans??" he finally asked.
Thada blinked. "Huh?"
"I..." Kao tried to speak, lips shaky as he looked down, but not before Thada could see tears in his eyes.
"Kao..." with two long strides, he there, caging the boy in his arms, staring down at his scared face with anxious eyes. "Kao, talk to me... hey! Look up at me?! Please..." he said softly, caressing the boy's back and neck, looking down at him with so much worry, all his own fears already out of the window. "Hey, talk to me please..."
Kao looked up at him with teary eyes. "I... I... *hic* I'm... I'm s-scared... *hic*"
Thada blinked. "Kao..."
"I wa-wanted... *hic* see you... just... I'm so... *hic* so s-scared... I can't..." he hiccuped again, unable to speak, or even breathe. "Can't b-breathe..."
Poor Thada looked around and then back at Kao, not sure what to think or do, so he just let out a sigh and pulled him in a hug, kissing his hair. "Em... hey, is... is this helpful?" he asked awkwardly, desperate to do something. "Come on, tell me what happened... is it me? Please... for God's sake, breathe at least..."
