There is just something amazing about flying.

I used to hate it as a kid though. Watching the world below get smaller and smaller gave me nothing but fear and anxiety.

These days it calms me. It's that moment when you pierce through the atmosphere and start to glide through the clouds. It gives me that sense of peaceful tranquility I never seem to get on land.

Everything and everyone is always on the go. Never stopping to appreciate what they have. But from up here, it's like time stops. We have the chance to take a step back and actually look around.

There's a bubble surrounding this plane right now that only I, and the 20 or so other passengers get to be in. It's a feeling I wish I could experience more.

"Can I get you anything to drink?" The hostess brought Penny back to reality.

"Uhm... just an orange juice for me. Thanks." Penny replied with a small smile. The hostess smiled and nodded back politely, before making her way down the aisle to ask the other passengers.

Penny let her gaze wander around. She thought about all of their lives.

Who they were, where they were from. Why they were coming to America. Are they seeing family? Friends? Maybe they're moving away?

It was a little game she liked to play. Giving each passenger their own background and story. It was fun and passed the time considerably.
So much so that before she knew it, they were making their landing.

She'd slept for a little while so had gotten an energy boost. Though come this evening she knew she'd probably crash. The switch from the UK to USA time zone was always a killer.

Penny grabbed her bags and made her way through security, it was incredibly busy due to the summer holidays coming up. This made it really clear to see which travellers were tourists and which were regulars. Watching everyone interacting made Penny chuckle to herself.

Before long, she was hailing down a cab. The driver getting out to help put her bags in the trunk.

She'd slipped back into using the American terms pretty quickly, considering she hadn't been here for a year.

This place was like her second home, and it felt great to be back.

She climbed into the backseat, putting on her seatbelt as the driver pulled out of the space.

"Where to?" He called out.

"Here's the address." Penny handed over a piece of paper with her destination on it. It was the original one from the first time she'd flown over here. Her shaky writing faded now but you could still see the words clear enough.

She was definitely the sentimental type. Wanting to keep little mementos and items that reminded her of certain events.

"Camp Crescent? Are you one of them cheesy camp counsellors like on films and stuff?" He chuckled as he typed the address into his gps, then handing the paper back.

Penny smirked.

"Something like that."

....

"PENN! YOU'RE HERE!" Cami's voice could be heard for miles. The sound echoing throughout the trees. She soon came barrelling over, abandoning her own bags in the dirt.

The force of her body against Penny's almost sent them toppling to the ground. Luckily Penny caught herself before losing her balance.

"Hello to you to Cam!" Penny mumbled as Cam squished herself against her.
