Nothing stays secret for long at camp. There are eyes and ears everywhere.
"Penny Penny Penny." Becca shook her head like a disappointed mother, her finger pointed towards Penny.
"Don't even start!" Penny whined, slapping her hand away.
Harry and Blake weren't far away. They'd already wandered off back to the cabins.
Becca and Penny slowly made their way back too."Did you really think none of us would notice you were gone? C'mon Penn you're smarter than that." Becca laughed out loud now. Finding the situation funnier than it actually was.
"I knew you'd realise eventually. Didn't think it was that big a deal. You're not my parents." Penny mumbled.
The whole situation was embarrassing but did she regret kissing Harry?
Not at all. In fact, she welcomed it.
"Was he any good?" Becca now asked. She was the camp's biggest gossip.
"I'm saying nothing." Penny declared but her smile told Becca all she needed to know.
"That's a big fat yes! Look at you! You're glowing!" Becca placed both her hands on Penny's shoulders shaking her in excitement and then pulling her into a hug.
"Our little Penny all grown up." Becca pretended to wipe away a tear.
"Little?! Becca I'm older than you!" Penny chuckled, pulling away from the hug.
"Only just."
....
"You and Penny then huh?" Blake murmured to Harry.
They were almost back the cabin now. The entrance to the little village in sight.
"Mhm." Harry nodding his head slightly with a small smile on his lips.
"Fair play to you both. I mean she's great. In fact one of the best girls I know. Apart from Bec but that's besides the point." Blake waffled on.
Harry watched him as he started to gush over Becca. An even bigger smile appeared on his face.
"We can talk about Penny all you want. I'd love to know more but can we side step and talk about you and Becca for a second? You like her right?"
Blake shrugged slightly but his own smile made an appearance.
"I guess I do. She's great. I think I knew last year but was too scared to actually do anything. So this past year I've tried to get over it. To try and forget but seeing her again has just affirmed it for me." Blake spoke plainly now. Admitting to feelings he hadn't talked about with anyone else before.
"Blake... that voice in your head that's telling you to forget and move on? Ignore it. It's obvious you and Bec like each other. Seize the day and actually try to make this work. You don't know unless you try man." Harry placed his hand on Blake's shoulder.
"Yeah you're right. Also can I just say, you're a good looking man, you can sing, play guitar and you're also great at the advice? Penny's a lucky lady." Blake chuckled.
"Oh I don't know about that. I'm pretty sure I'm the lucky one." Harry murmured. He turned, hearing shuffling across the way.
Penny and Becca had made it back to their cabin. Harry smiled as he watched the two of them ascend the steps.
Penny felt his eyes on her so turned to face him. The resident butterflies in her stomach reappeared as she looked over.
