Harry held his guitar so tightly it felt as though it may splinter into pieces.
He clenched his free hand into a fist a couple times before taking a breath in."This is it. You can do this." He told himself.
Do this for Jo. For Penn, and for yourself. He swiftly made his way onto the stage that had been set up. A stool had been placed in the middle for him to settle and feel comfortable.
Everyone looked on, shocked that he was back up on stage once more.
Penn gasped. Having no clue that he was about to this. On their wedding day.
"Hello everyone. So... umm... those of you that know me. Probably know that it has been a long while since I've done something like this. Mainly because myself and my sister were involved in a pretty serious car crash." He stopped to breathe and gather himself.
"The past couple of years I've come to realise that it was affecting me more than I would let on. It was stopping me from pursuing something I love and am passionate about. I want to use my voice, my words and my music to share my experiences in this world. Every little moment that means so very much to me. Even the rough ones."
Everyone chuckled at that but sniffles and cries could be heard from everyone too.
Penn was holding up pretty well but she knew it wouldn't be long before the tears came.
"This one is one I wrote especially for today. For my beautiful wife. Who has been through so much in recent years. For myself, for all I have been through. And for my family, my Mum and Dad." He glanced over his parents, taking a deep breath and smiling sadly. They smiled back, wiping at their tears.
"For Jo. My incredibly, brave, funny and strong sister who has been through the unthinkable. And for every single person who has ever suffered any kind of trauma. You are not alone."
Harry cleared his throat and began to play. His fingers picking at the strings first and then strumming the melody.
You were riding your bike to the sound of it's no big deal...
Penn watched as the love of her life, poured every inch of his body and soul into this song. The lyrics hitting her so incredibly fast and hard that it knocked the air out of her lungs. Every single word related to her and what she'd been through. But also for every single person in the room.
Each and every one of us has some kind of trauma and baggage that we hold onto. We carry it with us and it gets heavier and heavier as the time passes by.
It is the people we meet along the way that help carry that baggage. They lessen the load. Whether it be for a short time or a long time. They each have their time in sharing the burden. You showed me a power that is strong enough to bring sun to the darkest days...
Penn smiled softly at her husband as he sang these lyrics right at her. Little did he know he was the sun in her darkest days. He'd gotten her through the last five years. He was there for her through it all, yes they had their arguments and fights, every relationship does. However, it is these moments that made them stronger. They fought for each other and always would.
Penn now glanced around to see no dry eye in the house.
Harry stopped strumming and sung Acapella for a while.
He sung about moments that only herself and him would understand. The manic episodes of trying to change your style and environment just to feel something.
