2023, "The Endgame"
My stomach churned with anticipation as I sat with Ava in the debriefing room.
"So," she said softly. "We're gonna get them back."
"Yes. We're getting them back." I agreed. "We'll bring them home, I promise."
"Let's hope Bruce knows what he's doing with this whole time-travel business," she sighed.
"He does," I replied, confident. Ava stood, looking down. I stood with her, putting my hand on her shoulder.
"Whatever happens, Ava, you've been my best friend throughout this time." I said gently. "You've been with me through all of this. We're going to get them back. We're going to get Bryce back, we're going to get Bucky back, and we're going to get your people back. Let's have some faith, okay?"
Ava gave me a hopeful look, our eyes meeting. She nodded.
"Let's go," she said determinedly, "It's time to do some avenging."
