"It hurts, doesn't it? Being Lied to. Being told you're one thing and then learning it's all a fiction," - Loki Laufeyson
When Remus returned back to the House the next day, I couldn't help but feel guilty whenever I saw him. I felt a bit bad for invading his personal space but I soon realized that If I was going to continue using my seer powers I'd have to get over it. So, after a few hours of debating, I decided to go and talk to Remus.
I found him in the courtyard reading. He looked as though he had been run over, to be honest.
This is when I realize yesterday must have been a full moon, which explained why Remus had left last night. I mentally facepalmed, I can't believe I didn't figure that out last night.
Remus's chair was facing away from me. I stood behind him, debating what to say. Just as about to say fuck it and leave Remus snapped his book closed.
"Can I help you, Bella?" He asked still facing away from me.
"Shit," I muttered before sighing and walking over to sit in front of Remus.
"Hi," I said avoiding eye contact.
"Well?" Remus asked setting his book down on the table.
"What?" I asked pretending to be oblivious.
"What do you want Isabella?" Remus deadpanned.
"Me? Nothing," I said innocently. Remus gave me a look.
"Fine. I wanted to ask you about the guardian thing," I said awkwardly. Remus sighed.
"Bella, I've already told you. You really don't want me to be your guardian. I mean look at me, my life's not exactly put together," He said gesturing to his faded and old clothing.
"I don't care about that!" I said huffing. "You're my godfather Remus! You're a good person-
"How do you know that?" Remus snapped irritated. "You've known me for what two weeks? How do you know what sort of person I am?"
"Why can't you just take the role?!" I said raising my voice.
"Why do you want it to be me so badly?!" Remus said also beginning to get louder.
"Because you're all I have!" I shouted before silence fell. That came out a lot more dramatic than intended.
"What are you talking about, you have plenty of other options," Remus said quieter.
"Yeah like who? My mum doesn't count- she's a muggle, my dad's dead, my godmothers are dead or deemed insane, my other godfathers are either dead or in prison for murder. And I sure as hell am not letting Dumbledore weasel his way into my life!" I listed waving my arms around angrily.
