"Mr. Uchiha do you know why you're here today?"
He meant to let out a deep sigh but it came out as a groan. "Because two idiots think i need help. But I don't. I'm perfectly fine, so can I leave?"
The redhead simply looked at him and sighed slightly, making notes on her clipboard. Kakashi and Naruto had warned her about his attitude but she had hoped they were just being overdramatic.
But oh, no no. An Uchiha doesn't disappoint.
"No, you can't leave. They paid for an hour and said 'if he tries to leave before the hour is up, we'll be close by to drag him back in.' So, i guess in reality you could leave, but that's a hassel don't you think? Or wait, you say 'what a drag' all the time right?"
"Don't confuse me with that Nara guy." Sasuke grumbled, letting his back sink against the couch as he crossed his arms. "Alright, I'm stuck here. I can just sit until the hour is up right?"
"I guess so. They'll probably just send you back here another day though so you might as well take advantage of your friends trying to help you instead of thinking it's pointless."
"It is pointless though. You can't do anything to help me."
"And why do you say that, Mr. Uchiha? I'm not the best therapist in Kanoha for no reason," she said with a pride in her voice Sasuke couldn't miss. He studied her, the way she watched him behind her glasses with a smirk, waiting on him to back down.
He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I know you could help me in a coping way, but I don't want that. I don't want to cope with what I've done or what my life is like. I want it better. I want to wake up without hating myself. I want to be able to enjoy myself without feeling like I don't deserve it. I want."
Sasuke trailed off, feeling his chest tighten as Karin looked at him with sympathy. He didn't expect to talk about her today, but it seemed like his heart had other ideas.
"I want her back. To be able to see her smile at me, laugh at me, blush because of me. Hell she can be mad at me for the rest of our lives if it meant she'd be mine."
"How did she die," Karin asked quietly.
"She's not dead. Or, I guess she might as well be in the sense of how it used to be. She's getting married. This weekend, actually. Once she does that she won't go on missions with our team. I'm not going to be a part of her life anymore."
"Have you tried telling her that? It's true there wouldn't be a romantic involvement but you could still be her friend and support her."
"I don't want to be in her life unless it's romantic. "
Karin waited for him to continue, sighing heavily as he just sat there. "Well, why didn't you tell her that then? How long has she been with her fiancé?"
"About a year now. And, because I don't deserve her. I've done such terrible things to her, or done things to cause her so much hurt without a second thought. Would you leave a man who worshipped you for one who did nothing but hurt you?"
Karin stared, seeing a flash of pain in Sasuke's eyes before he cleared his throat and looked away, adding another brick to his wall. She sighed once more, wondering how one man could be so stubborn.
"You're right, you probably don't deserve her. So how are you going to move on?"
"Pardon?"
"How are you going to move on? You know, get over your feelings for her so you can eventually have her back in your life as friends."
"I hadn't considered that," he muttered as he brought a hand to his chin.
"You should probably try and find someone else-"
"I hate everyone else."
"Well then find one you don't hate. Just don't be one of those weirdos who says they're over someone and begins dating someone who looks just like them. That's just finding a substitute and it's not fair to the person."
Sasuke scoffed slightly. "I don't think I could find someone else with pink hair."
"Pink hair? That's-" Karin stopped as she was about to say unique. Suddenly all the pieces clicked into place as she thought about her sessions with a certain pink haired ninja who was having doubts about getting married.
Doubts because she didn't think she could ever love him like she was in love with her teammate.
Karin suddenly jumped up and began typing on her phone to signal Sasuke could leave without being attacked.
"Forget what I said. Go to her. Now."
"What are you-" Sasuke was interrupted by Karin grabbing him and pulling him up.
"Forgot what I said, just go to her and tell her you love her."
"But-"
"Trust me! Now go, dammit, before her shift at the hospital." She shut the door in his face before he could ask her how she knew he was talking about Sakura.
Then it hit him, how Naruto and Kakashi got the number for this therapist. And if Sakura was a patient and Karin was so sure he wouldn't fail if he confessed, maybe he would have a chance.
