August, 2020

It's been two weeks since my surprise trip with Patrick to Great Basin National Park. Two weeks since our make out session. Now, we were going back to school for our second year at community college. I will admit, I am nervous about this semester more than my first. This is the year before I transfer to University of Nevada Reno. This is the year I graduate with an Associate's Degree. Insane, right? Reader, whether you are in college or not, always remember that your dreams are valid. My two friends, Rebecca and Sasha popped into the lounge area to know what my summer was like.

"Taylor, tell us all the details! What did you and Patrick do over the summer?" Rebecca asked.

"Yeah, tell us!" Sasha cried.

"Okay, okay." I laughed. "Patrick surprised me with a trip to Great Basin National Park and we hiked up several trails. Me being the clumsy person I am, I accidentally slipped on my left foot." I explained.

"OMG, were you okay?" Rebecca asked.

"Yeah, I was. I was perfectly fine because Patrick caught me in his arms." I said with a blush.

"Awwww. You guys really do make a cute couple." Sasha said.

"Heh, thanks guys." I replied. "His birthday is coming up soon and I want to surprise him with a small party. Well, small, I mean just us."

"What will you do?" Rebecca asked as she brought her finger to her lips.

"Good question. I have no idea yet." I said with a shrug.

"Maybe ask his parents? They could give you some tips." Sasha suggested.

"Yeah, I may just visit his house one day and talk to them in private." I replied. I looked at my watch and realized that my Economics class was planning on starting in 10 minutes.

"Oh crap. Girls, I have to go." I said as I packed my bag up. "I will keep you guys posted on this birthday idea.

"Okay! Have fun!" Sasha called out.

"Bye!" Rebecca said with a wave.

I left the lounge room and sprinted towards my Economics class with my mind racing a million miles per hour.

In class

"Alright everyone, please be seated." Mr. Williams said as he walked into the classroom.

I looked at my syllabus to see what we were going to cover for the semester and immediately, I knew this was not going to be an easy class. Although I liked the professor, I had no clue idea what any of these topics meant. One way to find out I guess. Still, my mind was all over the place. I was thinking about what I would give Patrick for his birthday bit at the same time, I had to focus on this class. This is college life, I tell you.
