Coming into the second year of community college, I really did not know what to expect from my professors. Generally speaking, I never was the smartest person in the class and was never studying as hard as Taylor. I honestly have no idea how she manages to take such complex courses. Seriously, we are like polar opposites in the academic world. If only, some of her magic came onto me. Well, her kisses will do but that's besides the point. Anyway, this weekend is my birthday and I want nothing more than to spend another weekend with my beautiful princess. For now, I am off to Spanish class.
In class
"And so, students, your homework assignment is to read pages 23-30 in your textbook. We will be covering future tense pronouns next week. Have a good weekend." Mrs. Lopez said.
"Gosh, I really could use a nap." Tanner said.
"Yeah, I could use one too." I replied back.
"So, who's this Taylor girl you're hanging out with?" Tanner asked.
I looked at him as I was packing up my textbook. Tanner Knight is one of the only few friends in college who is not a douchebag. If anything, he's like Taylor but doesn't care so much about education like she does. Okay, scratch that, he's like me but taller and more buff. I am a twig. We met at the beginning of the first year and became quite good friends. Like I said before, I am not one to socialize unless I have to and this was an exception.
"Taylor is my girlfriend." I said.
"Really? She's quite the good looking woman." Tanner pointed out.
"I know she is. I am crazy about her. I think about her all the time and it's like she's always with me even when we are not physically together. She has my heart and I have hers." I explained.
"Damn, Patrick." Tanner said. "You sure have a way with words. Since when are you this expressive?" He asked.
I smirked. "It's all because of her that I am able to flirt like this." I said.
"Well, you are a lucky man, that's for sure." He said.
"I know I am and I will keep her for as long as I can." I said as we walked out of the classroom.
"Good call." Tanner said as he gave me a thumbs up. "Speaking of her, do you know if she is surprising you for your birthday?" He asked.
I chuckled. "I have no idea, but all I know is that I want to spend time with her. I don't care where we are or what we are doing. I just want to be in her arms." I said.
"Tsk, tsk. I'll leave you to it then." Tanner said as he walked towards his car.
"Yeah yeah." I said as I shook my head. I felt an arm around me and I turned to see who it was.
"Hey you." Taylor said.
"Hey cuteness." I said as I gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"So, I was wondering if you wanted to do anything for your birthday this weekend." Taylor said.
"Whatever we do, I am all for it." I said with a smile. I took her hand and held it before we went back onto campus. Both of us still had one class left before the day ended. This weekend would be the best time of my life because it would be the very first birthday I celebrate with my amazing girlfriend.
