Fair warning, this chapter's a little different from my regular content. Plus I'm a total sucker for
Dad!Dark.

A hurried knock at the door woke me from my sleep. It seemed I'd fallen out during the day's festivities, if the scrap of wrapping paper stuck on my face was any indication. There was some scattered around the floor, too, and I questioned how they'd missed it. It seemed everyone had gone to bed; it was no surprise, the room was completely dark.

The knock came once again, more demanding this time, and I quickly rolled off of the couch. I glanced out the window to find no car in the driveway as my foggy mind carried me towards the door.

Dark was standing on my porch, hair messy and sweat on his brow. He looked disheveled and exhausted, like he was pushing himself to the limit. Had he... teleported? He was always able to, but the most he ever did was a few steps; a couple of yards, max. Something was wrong.

"You're here- good. Did Yandere come over for Jamie's birthday?", he asked, straightening the lapels on his suit as though nothing was amiss. This was clearly not the case.

"No? You could've called-", I began, only to cut myself off when Dark's shell cracked. A burst of red flared around him, the area around him greying and ringing, before he reigned himself back in.

"None of you were answering, and I'm- I'm afraid it's urgent. You were the last place we looked, I...", Dark paused, a tiny, translucent clone breaking away from him and screaming with frustration, before dissolving in the night air. "No-one can locate Yan."

I stiffened. My breath stuck in my throat, and for a moment, my voice seemed caught as well. I gave my pockets a quick pat down and found no phone, triggering the memory of plugging it into a charger upstairs.

"Could he be out vith some friends? It's halloveen, ze kids love ze parties?", it was a weak suggestion, and I knew it. Another flash of red lit up Dark's face, and he growled in frustration.

"He doesn't have any friends! Even if he did, he would notify us, especially during times like this!", his voice boomed at a supernatural frequency, echoing and layering, no doubt reaching the second floor without much trouble.

He paced for a moment, cracking his neck so dramatically I heard it, before turning to face me again. He seemed to have been struck by an idea- I'd never seen him this expressive before.

"I'm going to the cottage you found Anti in." He turned on his heel and began to walk away.

"Vait- you need backup. Let me go vith you- ve can take my car.", I suggested, quickly toeing my shoes over and slipping them onto my feet. I pulled by keys off of the key ring by the door.

"Fine, come if you must. I'm not waiting for you."

I hesitated, before calling Jackie and Marvin down (no doubt they were awake), and then quickly jotting down a note for them; Yan missing; follow us to cottage

And then I ran after Dark, who was already opening the passenger door, shoes scraping against the concrete.

___

He was out of the car before I shut it off, completely abandoning his regal appearance as he practically ripped the old door off of its hinges.

I followed without such haste, dreading whatever we'd find inside. Finding nothing would be so, so much worse than finding something, wether it be a corpse or not.

When I entered, it was as though my brain just shut off. A wave of numbness washed over me, and instinctively I reached for a phone I didn't have.

Yandere was crumpled on the ground, chest shallowly rising and falling. His arm looked broken, and his uniform was soaked in blood. I wasn't quite sure where the source was, but it seemed to be somewhere near his side or stomach.

Dark fell to his knees in front of the teen, gathering Yan up in his arms like he was a child. Red seeped into Dark's shirt and suit, but he was completely focused on searching Yan's half-lidded eyes for any sign of lucidity.

"Henrik, help me!", he snapped, barely even glancing my way. The prompt brought me foreword, and I crouched beside the two of them.

"Lay him on ze ground.", I ordered, wiggling out of my coat and balling it up to prop Yan's head up. Dark did so, ever-so-gently laying the boy on the concrete floor.

Blue and red where whirling around his body like a police siren, and he squeezed the hand attached to Yan's uninjured arm.

I gently moved the teen's shirt upward, revealing a large stab wound in his right side. He seemed to have been stabbed multiple times in the exact same location, and I quickly pulled my lab coat from under his head to press against the injury.

He let out a whimper of pain, almost like a dog who's tail you'd just stepped on, and the area was momentarily drained of color. I ignored this.

"Ve need to get him to ze car, but I'm not sure ve can safely move him.", I explained, watching red rip through my pristine white jacket. "If Marvin vas here he'd be able to... You have your phone. Call him, make sure he's on his vay.", I barely glanced up at Dark as I spoke, cringing as I felt the thick, crimson substance on my hands.

The entity swiftly pulled his cell from his breast pocket and held it to his ear. It didn't look like he'd dialed, but it was ringing, so perhaps he'd manipulated reality again. Much easier than teleporting, but still straining, and a risk that wasn't necessary.

"Are you close to the cottage?", he demanded, knuckles white around the device. Something was said on the other end, which seemed to remove a minute amount of tension from of Dark's shoulders.

"Well move faster.", he gave who I was assuming to be Marvin no chance to respond as he pocketed the device once more.

He slipped out of his suit jacket, putting it in the place of my coat underneath Yan's head and gently smoothing the teen's hair. He looked absolutely fried; overwrought and pained, but he continued to radiate such a powerful aura that I wouldn't have guessed could I not see him.

Before long I heard a car, and two doors slammed.

Marvin and Jackie burst into the room.

I lifelessly instructed Dark to hold the makeshift bandage in place while Yan was transported, and then the boy started to rise into the air. He was suspended like he was submerged in water, hair floating around his head and clothes moving like waves. A sliver of moonlight fell across his face, illuminating the pain etched onto his expression.

Dark carefully moved with him, pinning the cloth to his wound as Yandere hovered foreword. The two of them managed to maneuver through the open doorway, while Marvin followed after.

"Holy shit... Schneep, look at this.", Jackie's voice almost startled me, and I turned to face him rather quickly. He was shining his phone's flashlight at a wall, and something was reflecting the light.

There, in a suspiciously red, liquidy substance, were three words that looked wide enough to be written with someone's whole hand.

'I'm still here'
