TW for torture/kidnapping
My eyes fluttered open to see complete blackness, without a single light source in sight. My head pounded, and all I remembered was going to meet Die at his apartment, something hitting the back of my head, and then changing it's tune to swing at my temple.
I moved my hand to massage my skull, and my attention was caught by a jingle and a cold weight around each of my wrists.
I jerked my hands away from myself, and they were halted before they extended fully. I snarled, aggressively pulling against my restraints. They didn't budge, only producing a massive racket. Then I heard a laugh, so low I thought I had imagined it. And then it came again.
The darkness seemed all-the-sudden suffocating, and the laughter began to swell, evolving into something thunderous and echoing. The hair on the back of my neck stood on end as I saw a pair of glowing white eyes in the blackness.
The dark seemed to crawl off of the wall and collect around the eyes, until a lanky, horned figure stood before me.
"Die, what the hell?", I spat, struggling to stand against the chains. Internally, my stomach dropped.
Die ignored my statement, folding his hands behind his back. He'd absorbed that habit from Mr. Edgelord, it seemed, "Hello, Anti."
I glared, curling my lip to expose sharp teeth, "I asked you a question, you glorified ram! Where the hell am I, and what the hell did you do to me!"
Die stepped closer, the emptiness of his blank eyes making me involuntarily shiver. He smiled darkly, showing off his pointed canines, similar to mine. "Well, I decided I've gotten bored with taking strangers from the street. They die so... easily. Humans... very fragile beings. But you." He loomed towards me with a chuckle, "You aren't human, are you? You're... well, nobody really knows. Demon, maybe? Not important."
He leaned back up, "My point is, you aren't going to die from a little shock, are you?" I was stunned into silence. I'd always gotten the impression that there was something dark beneath the surface of his unconventionally charismatic persona, but I'd thought... it didn't matter what i'd though. There were reasons I didn't trust people, and something like this was one of them.
"So, I figured, between you and Dark, you'd be the easiest. After all, Dark is a goddamn force of nature, and if I'm being honest... he's a bit unsettling. And far less naive. But you... You're perfect. The only power you have is... glitching. And it's not like anyone's going to care you're gone, right? I mean, you've been the bad guy since you were brought into existence. They won't even notice you're missing."
The words hit a little to close to home, because he was right. I had been a negative presence in the Septic's life since I could remember, and it wasn't like anyone was too worried about me leaving them alone. Even if I was making amends with them, they would probably assume I had lost interest in peace. "I trusted you.", I hissed, stepping as close as I could to him with the restraints that I just could not break.
He chuckled darkly, "That was your mistake. Don't worry, I'll give your friends a tip once I start to get bored with you." I glared at him, but stayed silent. I had a sneaking suspicion that I didn't want to give in to my temper right now.
Die laughed at my expression, "You look like I just gave you a lemon."
I gritted my teeth, seething with rage. Before I could bite back the retort, I snapped, "No, you've just kidnapped me. Nothing that serious." Die rolled his eyes, but it was hard to tell without pupils.
He took a step closer, and common sense seemed to melt away as I saw the look of casual amusement on his face. I stomped on one of his feet with so much force I heard a crack. "Jävla-", he hissed through his teeth, lurching back. He hopped on one foot, cradling his injured appendage.
Once the surge of pain eased from the foot, he turned to glared. He stepped closer to me, almost nose to nose, fury apparent in his thin lips. Before I could think to dodge, his knee was being driven into my stomach.
I couldn't suppress a pained wheeze, stumbling backward into the wall. I braced myself with one arm, holding my likely already bruising skin with the other.
Die huffed, all of his previous arrogance wiped entirely off his face, "You really don't understand the situation, do you?" I didn't reply, the fury still burning through my chest causing some distrust with myself. "Oh, I see. Now you've decided to stay quiet.", He smiled bitterly. He violently grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him, "Speak when spoken to, dog." I glared back, breathing heavily, and spat in his face. Die scoffed, an appalled expression on his face. He roughly dropped my head and wiped the saliva off of his cheek.
He stepped backwards, leveling his expression, and raised a hand in my direction. I furrowed my eyebrows, glancing him up and down. What was with the stupid pose?
And then, every nerve in my body decided to stage a riot. It felt like I had been soaked in gasoline and set aflame, my knees gave out from under me and a screech escaped my lips before I could think to stifle it.
I woke up screaming, thrashing against the thick comforter that was tangled around my limbs. I gasped for air, but it seemed I couldn't breath. I finally threw the thing off of me, curling my knees into my chest. I unintentionally dug my nails into my wrist, the sudden pain catching me off-guard.
I barely noticed Chase scramble out of his makeshift bed and sit down next to me. "Anti, Anti, hey, hey, calm down.", he said, likely a knee-jerk reaction. I didn't move. I couldn't.
"Anti, hey, everything's okay. You're at the Septic house, you're safe. It was just a nightmare. He can't hurt you anymore.", Chase soothed. If it was safe, why had it felt so real?
"Anti? Can you say five things you can see?"
I peeked around the room from my knees, my voice quiet and raspy as I said, "Y-you, bed, dre-dresser, doør, wall."
Chase smiled softly, and if I'd been in a better state, I would've noticed the way he visibly restrained himself from touching me. "Good. Four things you can hear?"
"You breathing, sømeone s-snoring, sink dripping, the vent."
"Good. Three things you can feel?"
"Blanket, wall, clothes."
"Great job, now two things you can smell?"
"You, plate on the dresser."
Chase nodded, "Good job. Is it okay if I touch you?" I nodded. He wrapped his arms around me, and I leaned into him, only just realizing how badly I was shaking.
I focused on his heartbeat, the steady movement of his chest rising and falling, the soft, rhythmic breaths he took, the warmth that his body provided. Chase's very existence was comforting, and it had been before He had taken me. I just never wanted to admit it to myself back then.
I was being shifted to lay against the mattress, away from that sense of comfort, and I gave a sleepy moan of protest. I hadn't even noticed how much time had passed... had I fallen asleep? My grip tightened on his T-shirt- when had I grabbed his shirt?
"Don't go.", I muttered, my eyes half-lidded. Keeping them open stung, so I decided not to fight the loosing battle. Chase stiffened, and for a moment, a small, awake part of my brain worried is said something wrong. I'd made him uncomfortable, I'd asked for too much...
" 'Course not. I'm right here.", he soothed. I vaguely registered him leaning against the wall for support before I slipped away again, taken into the threshold of sleep.
A/N: Thank you guy's so much for 1K reads! I really didn't expect everyone to like this book so much. I hope I did Anti's first POV chapter justice, and I hope Die is to your standards! Since he doesn't really have any cannon, this is how I imagined him! :)
