Near Cornwall...

(Y/N) and Spike were nearby one of the beach's piers. With the doberman dog grabbing her to hide behind one of the boats. As she questioned the sudden reaction from than his usual carefree self.

"Since when were you afraid of cows?" (Y/N) asked as Spike quietly shushed her.

("Summer didn't tell you how Bessie's a threat!?")

("That cow almost had a family of one hundred and one dalmatians meet their demise.")

("All because she did not like one of them poking fun at her.") Spike whispered as she gulped.

("Even if the joke was mean, that's going too far...") (Y/N) said as Spike replied with 'I know right...' then carefully peeking out of the hiding spot.

With Bessie's farmer and another local shaking hands before leaving the beach. The dairy cow with an aloof expression heading up the trail with her owner. Spike sighed in relief sitting down and returning to a somewhat relaxed mood.

"I'm glad some humans took notice of Bessie's not so sweet side." Spike said as (Y/N) shuddered.

Remembering an overconfident teenager trying to sneak up after Bessie for the usual cow tipping prank. But, ended up have him and his group in body casts after accidentally catching a foot in one of her set up traps.

"So that's why you and Summer were on alert." (Y/N) said as Spike started to stretch.

"Yeah but, I'm not doing another night patrol."

"Since I wake up early to catch the waves." Spike said as (Y/N) chuckled.

"So no plans in training to become a lifeguard." (Y/N) teased as she put her paw over her face lying down.

Spike blushed for a few seconds until the slow tidal wave splashed back at her with a half smile on his face.

"Eh I'm good."

"Don't want to be too stoic and end up scaring some visitors for a fun day at the beach." Spike said as (Y/N) shook off the saltwater out of her coat.

"I only heard this from Chips and that if you did."

"Dolly would be too lovesick to say anything."

"Almost like how she acts with her old crush back at Camden." (Y/N) said as Spike scoffed.

"Hansel acts more like a sheep following the crowd than channeling his 'inner wolf'..." Spike said as (Y/N) smirked.

"At least you kissed her first."

"And following up the promise of seeing her again."

"Visiting Camden Town for a week."

"While she was performing a rad skate trick." (Y/N) said now with a hearty grin as the blush returned on his face.

"I just know Dolly's a cool gal and fun-loving big stepsister to her siblings." Spike said as (Y/N) hummed.

"I wish I could've been there."

"So I would tell Dolly that the suave Spike was secretly nervous."

"Even preparing a week to overcome the sudden butterflies in his stomach." (Y/N) joked as Spike ruffled her forehead.

"Don't tease me that much or else she'll get jealous." Spike said as (Y/N) stuck her tongue at him.

The sunset slowly faded to a calming early evening. During the trip home, Spike stared out the car window opened with a refreshing breeze as he started to daydream.

Flashback

The week before the surprise visit...

Both Spike and Summer laughed at (Y/N) wearing a cheaply made outfit of blotchy dots and light blue collars. She ignored the laughter and went straight to the point.

"Do you want my help or-"

"Have Summer tell her-"

"Spike made a shark tooth charm for Dolly's skateboard helmet." (Y/N) said as the laughter died down.

Prompting Spike to whine and Summer sending a quick thumbs at him before heading over on the sidelines to watch.

Three days later, Summer ran off and mentioned she was too busy to hangout for the entire week. And with that, Spike saw (Y/N) in a different light as he grew uneasy. Developing new feelings for her after messing up each confession.

Until that fateful Saturday...

He delicately placed the charm in front of (Y/N). And sat up speaking in a serious tone.

"I found another shark tooth and made you a souvenir out of it."

"Also as something to remember me by, so you can look forward to another trip to Cornwall..." Spike said.

He had no time to react to her hug. Which only lasted five seconds as she picked up the charm and placed it back into his paws.

"Now you're definitely ready!"

"You got this Spike!" (Y/N) praised him with a job well done.

Oblivious to his doubtful frown as he faked a chuckle.

"Its all thanks to you, I got this far without giving up..." Spike said nudging her arm.

With (Y/N) returning another hug for good luck.

Flashback End

Spike heard his owner calling out to him. As he looked around and noticed the vehicle parked in front of his house. Following the steps down, out of the opened door, as his paws reached the cold, patchy ground.

He could only sigh glancing back at the calendar. A cerulean blue circle at the day of reconnecting with Dolly and her family.

The next day midway into the afternoon by the beach...

Roxy, a kind and friendly rottweiler dog, spoke up when Dolly and Spike couldn't find the right words to a breakup.

"Dolly, it takes time to rekindle a friendship from a previous relationship."

"And Spike, not being honest about those new feelings may leave even more regrets."

"But, you two gave each other a memento of those fleeting yet, still wonderful moments..." Roxy said as Spike gently held onto a skateboard chewtoy.

"We can always be board buddies."

"I skate and you surf." Dolly said gradually relaxing and reassured by her girlfriend's advice.

"Likewise, skater girl."

"And Roxy, Dolly always calms down by surprise kisses."

"Also, a great way to get her attention." Spike said as Dolly groaned with Roxy agreeing on the extra detail.

Dylan, Summer, and (Y/N) breathed a sigh of relief observing the tense atmosphere now in lively spirits. However, the cosmic couple saw slight hesitation from (Y/N) as she spoke up.

"Uh, do you two have any tips to help out someone new to dating?" (Y/N) asked as Summer looked at Dylan.

The dalmatian with pleading eyes to be the one to answer this question. Summer snickered letting Dylan do the talking. As he heavily explained the purpose of being yourself as the first and important step before going on a tangent.
