Dolly and (Y/N) stayed inside while the skater wears another cone on her head. Recovering from a minor injury on her paw and slightly upset missing the next deadline for another skating competition. The feeling subsided after Hansel dropped by for a quick visit before heading off to another poetry slam session.
"How come you haven't worked up the courage to ask him out?" (Y/N) asked as the dalmatian shook off the blush beginning to cover her face.
"Hansel really isn't into freestyle poetry."
"I ended up being too honest about that."
"After using Dylan's poem as my own thing." Dolly said as (Y/N) sighed.
"He's still kind of a snob, being part of the group with Clarissa, and the other pampered pooches." (Y/N) said as Dolly propped up against her skateboard, carefully laying down on it, while avoiding her injured paw.
"Well, at least he's nice compared to Clarissa or Portia." Dolly said.
"If Roxy wasn't busy, she knows Hansel isn't the kind and sensitive soul you think he is." (Y/N) said as Dolly blew a raspberry at her.
"That one skating competition doesn't count."
"She was a judge during that time." Dolly said as (Y/N) furrowed her brow.
"Yeah, while you were taking in the spotlight, signing photos, and other merch."
"Hansel and some other guy laughed and left instead of pointing out."
"You didn't need Big Fee as your lucky charm to avoid another wipeout." (Y/N) said as Dolly groaned.
"So what, are you going to continue to judge him for being a jerk..." Dolly said as (Y/N) nodded no.
"I'm only saying, if you keep being all googly eyes over him."
"And not tell that husky, you love to be more than just friends."
"At this rate, he's bound to find some other dog." (Y/N) said as Dolly looked at the window.
"He would never and plus, why are you judging me for having bad taste in crushes."
"You rarely talk about your crush and seem all fine and dandy about it." Dolly said.
In a nearby room, the other pups sensed a tense atmosphere. A few with sad expressions after seeing (Y/N) silent for a few seconds.
"That's because she has a crush on someone else..."
"I didn't want to get in the way of that..." (Y/N) said trying to fight back tears slowly falling on her face.
Dolly quickly dropped the scowl on her face, recognizing (Y/N)'s reflection in the window, heartbroken while saying that.
"(Y/N), I didn't mean-"
"No, Dolly its fine."
"I just remembered I have to leave early, so see you later." (Y/N) said as the dog left.
In the distance, a vacuum cleaner stood in place. Dylan entered the room not caring about the leftover dirt around him.
"You're really dense about not taking a hint."
"The hint being, you're (Y/N)'s said crush." Dylan said shocking Dolly as she fell off her skateboard briefly wincing from the pain.
"Wait, you knew and didn't tell me?!" Dolly said with Dylan still glaring at her.
"She wanted to confess her new feelings towards you but, every time Hansel shows up."
"You shift your focus to him and she stops, just following whatever you want to do."
"To avoid making a scene as well as, the risk of ruining your friendship."
Dylan regains his composure as he continues to speak.
"It just feels sad that it took you this long to notice her..." Dylan said as Dolly lightly bit her lip.
"I still want to make it up to her for what I said."
"Could you please help me with thinking up a plan to cheer her up?" Dolly asked as Dylan huffed now looking for a pen and paper.
A few days later around sunset a block away towards (Y/N)'s house...
(Y/N)'s ears perked up hearing the sound of a skateboard rolling next to her. She paused to observe Dolly biting onto the handle of a gift basket. With the dalmatian letting go and holding the woven container filled with (Y/N)'s favorite things and a bag of dog treats towards (Y/N).
"Look what I said, was totally uncalled for."
"And I feel worse making you cry..."
"Especially, when you had more of the guts, trying to ask me out..."
"I'm really sorry (Y/N)." Dolly said.
She felt the warmth feeling from one of (Y/N)'s paws over hers. Now listening to a soft laugh as (Y/N) pointed out a (f/c) heart plushie.
"You really went with Dylan's idea of a 'I'm sorry basket'." (Y/N) said playfully teasing Dolly causing the dalmatian to blush.
"A little bit but, hopefully its not too corny..." Dolly said as (Y/N) snickered.
"Not at all, its really sweet."
"Even adorable that you went through the trouble of making homemade treats." (Y/N) said with a cheerful grin deepening the blush on Dolly's face.
"There's still a few burnt ones only because the pups and also Dylan."
"Wanted to get a taste test to make sure I wasn't missing a step." Dolly said while (Y/N) chewed a bone-shaped snack.
Not far away, Dylan tried not to burst into laughter, spotting Dolly in a flustered manner after (Y/N) smooched her. Da Vinci hid under a bush blissfully sighing at the new couple.
"The vibrant sunset really captures them into a comforting feeling of forgiveness and to new beginnings." Da Vinci said as Dylan hummed.
"That and asking Snowball for a recipe on homemade dog treats was the best last minute addition to the basket." Dylan said as Da Vinci froze seeing Dolly doing a double take.
Stunned to see Dylan close by and she started running across the street. Dylan stopped questioning why Da Vinci was whimpering until he heard his name called from a now furious Dolly. He quickly dashed, and attempted to explain why, he and Da Vinci were there as Dolly chased after him. While (Y/N) gave a dog treat to Da Vinci who slowly appeared out of the bush.
"I'll tell Dolly you were curious with how I would like the gift."
"But, Dylan's on his own for poking fun at his sister and almost ruining this heartfelt experience." (Y/N) said as Da Vinci giggled munching on the delicious treat.

I didn't expect to start off with some slight angst but hopefully the change into a funny ending made up for it
Imo Dolly being into someone like Hansel felt like a good idea but a lot of the episodes didn't seem he's that into her (Hansel's nice and all but he can be a jerk sometimes lol [Not even with Dylan because that husky still follows the prim and proper group Clarissa and Portia's in)
Idk that's my opinion on him lol
