Chapter 1 - The Gray Family

Jane smiled painfully while looking at herself in the mirror. Her face was in an alarming shade of purple. 

Jane breathing slowly, "Come on my sisters, you can do better than this! I still have all these room in my waist." 

Her second sister Susan and third sister Marie each pulled on the strings of the corset to tighten the already tight garment. 

Marie sweating, "Why. Won't. You. Ever. Stop. Eating. Those. Damn. Biscuits?!" She asked tiredly while pulling at every word. 

Anna with her fifth month baby bump gently powdered Jane's face in rose pink powder while Jane's cat Stanley kept walking in between their skirts.

Susan huffs, "Marie you're supposed to adjust from this part!" 

Marie rolling her eyes, "I'm trying!" 

Jane swallowing her breath and blinking away her tears, "My dear sisters, I can hold it in. Do it." 

Anna, "Hush Jane, don't talk when I'm doing you face."

Susan, "We have been doing it from the beginning!" 

Marie scowling, "It's your whale waist not sucking it in!" 

Jane's fourth sister who sat on the bed, breastfeeding her daughter, "Oooh Jane, this corset is doing wonders to your bosoms." 

Anna looked down at Jane's bulging breast and started dabbing pink  powder to make it more noticeable. Susan and Marie heaved out sighs once they finished tightly tying the strings. 

Anna smiled, "Come girls, get the dress ready. Oh move away you silly boy." Stanley purred rubbing his head on Anna's skirt.

Lucy patting her baby, "Is it true that Commodore Norrington will propose to Miss Swann at the ceremony?" 

Jane nearly stopped breathing at that sentence. 

She looks at Anna, "Is it true?" 

Susan patted Jane's back, "You're not in love with him are you?"

Jane shook her head clenching her fists tightly, "Of course not. It's just that....Well Elizabeth's younger than me. I mean I am happy if she is to get married to Commodore Norrington. I mean I just meant that-" 

Marie wraps her arms around Jane, "That you should be married before her. Yes dear Jane, we understand."

Jane hold her sister's arms sniffling, "Does that make me a bad person?" 

Anna closes that powder case, "Oh nonsense. Jane you are the last person in this world to be ever classified as bad. There's nothing wrong in wanting to be married before your younger friend. And please don't start crying love, I've just made you look so pink."
