Jason's POV
"We're here." I whispered in her ear.
"We are? How did Nate get pass all the security? How did he get pass the border without anyone knowing?" she asked.
"I have my ways..." Nate's chilling voice trailed off as he stopped for a red light.
"No. Really! How did you get pass the border? she asked again, this time her voice sounded like she was wide awake.
Nate sighed and silence took over the car. He finally spoke.
"I just took a secret short cut I guess..." he said quietly. His eyes focused on the road and his hands gripped on the wheel.
Madison nodded slowly and looked out the window, aadmiring the sun rise. It was spring this time in Canada so it was a bit cold but during the afternoons it got warm.
"You hungry babe?" I asked her.
"Very." she said smiling as I leaned towards her and kissed her cheek.
"Want to stop by Tim Hortons? I heard their food and coffee is really good. There's always a Tim Hortons restaurant every 2 kilometers or so." Nate suggested.
"Yeah!" we both said at the same time. Madison giggled and rested her head on my chest. I twirled her soft brown hair in between my fingers.
"Walk in or drive thru?" Nate asked. He pulled up the Tim Hortons' parking lot and parked in one of the spots with the car still running. I looked through the glass window of the restaurant and is was packed in there. Also, we couldn't risk revealing ourselves even though we were in the different country.
"Drive Thru" I answered back.
Nate nodded. He backed out of the parking spot and drove the drive thru line. There was only 2 cars in front of us so it wouldn't take long.
A flash back in my mind occurred of the last time I went to a drive thru. It was trouble. At least I hope these Canadian's didn't recognize me, but I can't promise that.
Nate placed a spot in the line and we all looked at the breakfast menu. Tim Hortons would be one of the best restaurants here in Canada. This would be my first time tasting their food.
"Nate you have to order for us since they might notice me." I said.
"Yeah. What do you guys want?"" he asked. He slowly moved up closer to the menu. We're just one car away from the ordering box.
"A breakfast sandwich and a coffee" I answered back.
"Same with me" Madison added.
"Okay" Nate nodded as he pulled up to the speaker box.
"Good morning, welcome to Tim Hortons! May I take your order?" a cheerful women's voice came out from the speaker box.
"Morning. I would like to order three breakfast sandwhiches and 3 large coffees."
"Okay, and would you like ham or bacon on your sandwiches?" the lady asked.
"Bacon!" me and Madison quietly yelled.
"Bacon for all of them" Nate answered back.
"Okay. Your total is $12.25. Please drive to the pick up box now and thanks for ordering!"
Nate rolled up the window half way and started searching in his pockets for some money and change.
"Damn. That's kinda expensive" he complained.
"Canadian bacon is awesome. Worth it" I smirked.
"I guess..." he said.
As he pulled up to the pick up box, he handed the lady exactly 12 dollars and 25 cents. Even though we had American money, they still accepted it.
"Came all the way from the USA?" the blonde lady asked Nate.
"Yup! Just visiting some family in Startford" he smiled back.
"Nice! Hope you guys have fun. Here you go" she nodded and handed us a large paper bag and a tray containing 3 large coffee cups filled with goodness.
"Thanks!" Nate said.
He drove off and handed us our sandwiches and coffee. We unwrapped the paper and took a bite.
"Mmmm! Tim Hortons' food is so good!" Madison squealed, taking another bite from her sandwich.
"This is good." I said, savoring the taste.
"Okay now let's stop ranting about how good Canadian food is and plan where we're heading off to next!" Nate interrupted.
"I would prefer to live in a house..or an apartment rather then a hotel" I suggested.
"Well how are we going to do that without letting anyone know?"
"We could build a house" I joked.
"We're criminals McCann, not construction workers." he chuckled.
"Do you have any friends or family in Startford?" Madison asked,
"Well...our friend Alex lives here" Nate said quietly.
That name just gave me chills. Alex Hunter was his name. We grew up together and we would always fight. Some of the fights would even get physical. There's NO way that I will be living in a house with him.
Anger flared through my body, my jaw tightened to the thought of him.
"No! I hate that douche bag!" I yelled.
"He's the only one who will let us stay in his house! He knows what he do and we have to hide nothing from him! He's like one of us bro!" Nate exclaimed.
"Still! I hate him!" I groaned.
"I bet it won't be that bad baby." Madison said as she pulled closer to me. I looked in her eyes. Her beautiful brown eyes. It's only for our good. It's only for her own good too. I promised to take care of her. I can't be selfish. She's in my life now.
I took a deep breath and sighed.
"Fine. Just don't be surprised if we fight in the next hour in his house."
