Alex's Point of View

The house was filled with silence. No talking or footsteps whatsoever. I'm guessing and hoping that everyone was asleep.

I sat patiently on the edge of my bed, my eyes carefully focusing on the digital clock that was placed on top of my night stand.

4:30 am

I nodded to myself as I stood up and made my way out of my room quietly. I looked down the hallway and all the doors were closed.

Perfect.

I walked down the stairs slowly. My hand glided on the handrails as I went down. I took a peek at the living room and there was Madison sleeping on the couch. So far this was going well. I silently walked over to her and carefully bended over just so I was at the same level as her.

"Don't worry baby, everything will be fine. Your life will be in trouble if you stay with Jason." I whispered to her.

And with that, I slid my arms under her body and carried her in bridal position. I walked over to the front door and opened it, revealing Canada's dark nights and the cool temperatures. It was always like this in the winters. The nights were longer and the days were shorter. The weather was always freezing and if you talked, you could see your own breath.

Grabbing my car keys from my pocket, I unlocked car and carefully slid Madison in the back seat.

I closed the door and opened the door to the drivers seat. I rubbed hands together as they gathered warmth from the friction. I put the keys in the ignition and started the car.

After a few minutes, I looked back at Madison who was still sleeping. Her head laid on the car windows and her hands were perfectly placed on her lap. I turned my head back to the front and started to drive out of the driveway, and drove away from the house.

-1 hour later-

We were close to my destination. I sped up a little more so I could get out of this car and have breakfast because I was hungry as fuck. I should have eaten at home or at least brought something to snack on while I was driving. Stupid me.

I approached a red stop light and I hit the breaks kind of hard.

"Fuck." I mumbled to myself.

I looked in the mirror above me and saw that Madison was starting to wake up. I stared at her as she was starting to fully wake up. When she did, her eyes widen with fear when she looked around, realizing she wasn't in the same place. She looked at my eyes in the mirror and the colour of her face drained. I smirked a little when we made eye contact.

I drove again when the red light turned to green.

"W-where's Jason and Nate?" Her shaky voice asked. I could see the fear in her eyes.

"Back home." I answered back with no hesitation.

"Why!? Why am I with you? Where are you taking me?"

"Because sweetie, you need to stay away from Jason. Do you know that your life is in risk right now?!"

"But I love him..." Her voice trailed off.

I sighed heavily through my nose and sat there in silence for a few minutes.

"Yes I know that! But seriously have you ever thought about yourself? You know that you could be in deep trouble when the police finds you happily with Jason!" I snapped.

"I don't care! I want to be with him!" She argued.

"Madison, Madison, Madison. I'm just doing this to protect you."
