She slept peacefully,
Little to no movement,
Paws still and ears laid to rest.Closed emerald eyes,
The epitome of delicate,
Her nose with a singular freckle,
Twitched ever so slightly.Looking at her from afar,
Her beautiful, tabby, tiger-like patterns,
Caressed her warm stomach. If you were to reach softly enough,
She would fall into your touch,
Nuzzle her small peach nose into your palm. Her coloured tail laid against her tiny paws and stay still for a while.
As she quivered in her sleep,
Her ears in movement,
Heart beating fast for a moment or two.Front paws covered her eyes,
Gentleness in her nature. Her pinky-brown pads complimented her fur,
Yet,
Gave away her age so easily. Her brittle nails fleed,
For another adventure,
Another bird to taunt,
Another mouse to tease. She was fragile.
The feel of her fur beneath my fingers
cannot amount to anything else in this world,So soft.
As she curled into a small ball once more,
I felt the need to leave kisses,
To the front of her head. Her matted fur didn't take away her beauty,
Neither did her thick white whiskers. The damp smell of her silver coat,
A calling of home and cosiness. There through tears, pain, heartache, more.
On rainy days, obligated to rub against me,
Wet hair.
On warm days, she'd bask in the sun;
I always found her outside. On cold days, she tucked herself in,
Someone's lap or a blanket,Atop the bunk bed.
Waking up with her made me feel,
Reassured, happy, loved.Spending the day with her made me feel,
Joy, comfort, peace.
Going to sleep beside her,
(whether tucked away in the crevice of my arm, my stomach, or on my legs),
Made me feel appreciated and happy.I would like to think she loved me as much as I loved her.
I would like to think she loves me as much as I love her. Still.
Human guilt creeps in,
I couldn't do anything to make her better,
Inadequate finances.I wanted her to be happy,
With no pain to upset her.I wanted to love her,
Right until the end.Thank you for all the memories we spent together.
I hope we spend even more time together, too, in the future. She really is the most precious creature
I have laid eyes upon in my life.
My beautiful Princess.
