☆Lauren☆
Nick orders us an Uber since Mr Carver took the limo leaving us stranded.
I can't believe I'm doing this. Why am I doing this? What's the point in seeing the apartment if I'm not going to be living there?
We finally come to a stop and the Uber driver speeds off. I'm literally squirming out of my skin as we walk through the revolving doors.
"Welcome back Mr Carver," the man at the desks greets. "Thank you Harold," he smiles, then directs me to the elevator.
There's a key code off to the side. "The password is 3333," he says typing it in then clicks the 'penthouse' button. My jaw drops to the floor.
"What's wrong?" He says with a confused expression. "I thought we were staying in a regular apartment, not a freakin penthouse!" I squeal and he laughs.
"And how do you think that would look in the public eye, that Roger Carver's son isn't receiving the best of the best? It won't look good on his part," He laughs, but there's no humor behind it.
The elevator goes up , up and up till it dings and the doors open. I gasp when I see the interior. This was not what I was expecting at all. Instead of light whites and blues, like most penthouses are, it's a dark theme. Black marble countertops, dark grey couches and warm wooden floor. It has a really cozy feeling to it.
I slowly step out of the elevator, walking around with my eyes wide and my jaw on the floor. Is it bad that I'm instantly in love with this place? I seriously never want to leave and I haven't seen the whole place yet. Oh boy I'm in trouble...
I head to the kitchen, brushing my fingertips across the island. The things I could make here. I'd literally spend hours in this kitchen. The ceilings are so tall I have to strain my neck to look up at them. In the corner of the kitchen, there's a black wooden bench in an 'L' shape with black and white checkered cushions and a squared table. It looks like a cozy little nook that I can envision myself drinking coffee at.
Next to the kitchen there's a beautiful all glass dining room table that seats 6. The walls are covered with a beautiful wallpaper that looks like broken mirror pieces are glued to them.
Then there's the family room. I walk up to the massive space grey sectional couch with fluffy white pillows. It has a massive flat screen TV plastered on the wall with a warm wooden coffee table in the middle of the room. I can also see myself sitting here all day watching TV and movies.
I'm truly speechless as Nick leads me to the staircase going up. There's more!?
Once we get to the top he opens the double doors. I gasp and run right into the room. It's the bedroom and probably the most gorgeous bedroom I've ever seen!
Instead of the dark and warm tone downstairs, up here it's the opposite. Light grey walls, a king size white rustic headboard, white dressers and nightstands, and ocean blue carpets. There's glass lamps on each nightstand and a huge mirror from floor to ceiling in the corner. I walk up to the closed door and open it. It just keeps getting better and better!
On my left there's a huge vanity with light bulbs all around the border of the mirror with a cute pale pink cushioned stool. On the right is a massive bathtub with built in jets. Man the bubble baths I could have in here...
Next to the tub in the corner is a shower with glass walls and a stainless steel showerd head on the ceiling. Across from it is a small room with a sink and toilet. I keep walking straight till I'm standing in a massive walk in closet. There's two shelving units on each side of the room and a white and grey marbled island in the center. Nick's clothes fill the left side and the right side is empty where I'll fill with my clothes.
Whoa...
Did I just say where I'll fill with my clothes? As if I'm moving in? I'm getting ahead of myself. Snap out of it Lauren. I turn around and head back into the bedroom. I look to Nick and see that he has a big smile on his face.
"Nick..." I say breathless. "You still have to see the rooftop," he grins, gesturing behind me. I turn to see two doors with white flowy curtains over them. I walk up and open the doors. My eyes widen tremendously. This is absolutely unreal...
There's a big white garden structure with fairy lights and underneath it is an outdoor seating area. In the corner lies a big rectangular pool with lounge chairs surrounding it. In the other corner is a grill and a high table and stools for meals. The whole place is surrounded with glass fencing and the view of the place around us is beautiful.
The next thing I know is that I'm running up to Nick, full on attacking him as I wrap my legs around his torso and my arms around his neck and plant a big kiss on his lips. His eyes widen and his arms wrap around my lower back as he kisses me back. "It's beautiful Nick, I love it," I tell him with a big smile on my face.
"Wow, if this is the reaction I get, I should've shown you sooner," he grins and I laugh as he places me back on the floor.
"Well I'm glad you like it. This place is as much yours as it is mine. I know you don't want to move in and that's completely fine and I respect that but you can come here whenever. I already told you the code and your name is on the place as well if you have any trouble getting in just talk to Harold." He explains.
As much as I would love to move into this beautiful place, it's too soon. Nick and I just started over and we'd be rushing into things too quickly. Plus I just moved in with my brothers only a couple of months ago. How would they feel if I left them?
"Stop that overthinking in that big mind of yours," he taps the side of my head. "You don't have to make any decisions now. I'm happy with how things are," he smiles. Why does he have to say all the right things?
I wrap my arms around him and hug him tightly. He wraps his around mine and pulls me in closer resting his chin on the top of my head. "Thank you Nick," I mumble against his chest. "Of course," he says back.
"It's getting late, I should drive you home so your brothers won't be worried," he says pulling away. I frown. I honestly don't want to leave, but know it's for the best. He must've noticed my frown because he says, "Remember this is your place as well and can come here whenever you want," he assures me. I smile and nod at him.
Wow, what a day...
