Inspired by @/scarlett2u 's One Secret I'll Never Tell in fanfiction.net. Highly recommend it. It's not finished but the ending of the last chapter satisfied me.
This is kind of NJBC but also CB.——————————————————
When Blair, Chuck, Serena and Nate were four years old, the non-judging breakfast club began. The four of them were inseparable, whether it was in class, or recess, lunch and dismissal.
Seeing as they were the sons and daughters of the top businessmen and women in the Upper East Side, everyone- even teachers- knew better than to cross them. They were four years old! But still, they were Manhattan Royalty.
Nathaniel Archibald, the golden boy. He was perfect in everyone's eyes. With his shiny, blonde locks, he seemed to capture the girls' hearts in his school. His grades were average, and he was a very respectful boy.
Serena van der Woodsen. Everyone would agree she was Nate's female version. Have them stand side by side and you would see no difference expect their faces. The 'It-Girl', was her nickname ever since kindergarten. She was undeniably beautiful and her personality was a mix of good and bad.
And then there was the third member, Chuck Bass. Now, he was different from the other two. If Serena and Nate were the same, he was the complete opposite. Chuck was a jerk, actually. Well, a hot one (yes, even as a kid, he was hot), at that. At age four, he learned to glare at everyone who dared to stand in his way. His dark expression scared the hell out of the students and staff in school, something not a lot of four year olds can do.
Finally, Blair Waldorf. Oh, even the name was powerful. Queen B, Ice Queen, Dark Queen, she was all that. Blair was and still is a bitch. A badass no one should ever cross. She would be able to take down any girl- and boy- who insulted her, or tried to take her crown away.
Nate and Serena were the same, but Blair and Chuck were one person. If they were to be described as colors, gold and silver, maybe? Or was silver too low to describe them.
Perhaps there were no words powerful enough to describe the two brown heads. But anyone could swear that just by hearing 'Blair and Chuck,' the goosebumps would be triggered.
Charlene Williams, a student in the same kindergarten as the NJBC, envied them. Most especially Blair Waldorf. She came from an average, middle class family in Brooklyn. She was a raven haired girl, and with her brown freckles, she looked very cute and pretty.
Apparently, not pretty enough for Chuck Bass. Her 'crush' started when she saw Chuck step out of his limo on the first day of school. The way his hands fit perfectly in his pants' pockets made Charlene show her heart eyes.
She was four back then, but she was damn attracted to him.
When Charlene was ten, her infatuation for Chuck Bass grew bigger. Even in his schemes, she admired him. His smirk whenever his plan went accordingly well made her heart go a mile a minute.
She couldn't go to him. Tell him she wanted to be friends and be closer. She was an outsider- a loner. She was pretty sure her classmates don't even know she exists. Well, except Cassy who was also another nerd in her class, who always keeps asking for an 'extra pen.' She was a nerd but she was really careless.
Charlene did the one thing that she had always been doing ever since she was a toddler. She hid herself in the shadows. And as she did that, she also watched Chuck Bass. But Chuck Bass watched someone else.
At age ten, Charlene found herself to be feeling jealous. Jealous at Blair and all that she owned. Her designer bags, her designer clothes, her friends, her family, and Chuck. Unlike Charlene, Blair had Chuck. And they walked through the corridors of their school together, sometimes with Chuck's arm wrapped around her neck as he carried both of their bags to their classroom.
