Nightmares. God Maya hated them. Sitting up in her bed she pushed the covers off herself and walked over the window. The sky a blooming flower as the sun rose. Cracking open the window, Maya took a deep breath in of the warm air, letting it wash over her and calm her racing thoughts. After a few deep breaths, slowing her heart rate, she sat back down on her bed.

A light knock sounded on her door causing her to jump slightly. It wasn't even six in the morning and people were already wanting to talk to her, what a great start to the day! Grumbling to herself, Maya opened the door to a shirtless Bucky with bed hair.

The end of her conversation she had with Wanda flashed across her mind. She could trust him. He hadn't given her any reason not to, he'd been nothing but kind to her, even helped her. And she'd blown up in his face at him, more than once. Guilt crashed into her like a cold glass of water to the face.

"Good morning," he said a little hoarsely. "I just wanted to check up on you, see how you're feeling."

"Thanks," she mumbled back, trying to keep her eyes on his, and failing miserably as they travel along his bare chest. Instinctivly, she reached a hand out to touch his chest, she caught her arm with her other hand, turning away and walking back into her room, mentally slapping herself.  "I could be doing a lot better. Not exactly the best couple of days of my life."

Bucky still awkwardly in the doorway as Maya sat down on her bed. Seeing his discomfort she said, "You can come in, it's alright." He sat himself down at the edge of her bed, fixing his hair slightly.

"I know I'm not your friend, Maya, and I'm not always the best with words, but-" he began gingerly.

"Bucky," Maya cut him off. "Before you say anymore, I need to apologise." He looked up at her in surprise, his pale blue eyes wide. "You've been nothing but kind to me, and incredibly patient. I've been nothing but rude to you, and I'm sorry. This all terrifies me. HYDRA terrifies me, the control they havr, well had, over me. And you guys took me in knowing the risks." Maya paused, taking a shaky breath in. "You trusted me that night enough to call your team away when I was going to cause a blood bath. Thankyou for that. I'm sorry I haven't been as trusting with you, but I am going to try." She smiled up at him.

A set of blue eyes smiled back at her. "There was no need to apologise, Maya. I know you're going through hell at the moment. I've been through it myself, all of us here have. We understand. If you need anything, just ask." Bucky reached out and gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze, then stood up and made his way to the door.

"Actually, there is one thing you could help me with," Maya said, making Bucky turn back around to face her. He waited expectantly for her to continue. "Well, Wanda didn't exactly give me a wide array of clothes, and honestly I think they are more in her style than mine being that tight," she rambled on. "And, well, I was just wondering, you don't have to, but, well, umm, can I steal, borrow, a shirt or two from you, if you don't mind, cause I don't really have any pyjamas."

Bucky let out a small chuckle. "Yeah, you can. Come on," he said gesturing with his metal hand for her to follow.

He held his bedroom door open for her. Maya had to shuffle past, her hair brushing the bottom of his chin as she was forced to almost push up against him to walk past him. A faint flush crept across her cheeks as she looked up, seeing Bucky watching her intently. She mumbled a quick apology to which Bucky replied with a smirk, making her cheeks deepen in colour.

Bucky's room was simple, like her own, only you could tell it had been lived in a little more. The bed was messy, covers unmade, and next to it he had a small bookshelf over flowing with various covers. The both of them made their way to his dresser, which also sat underneath his window.
