"The GRC is conducting raids to try and fin Karli," Sam began explaining once Maya and Bucky entered where they'd first officially met Karli after the funeral. "So far they've only found her followers. They searched the camp near here, but like all the others, nothing. She's gone. We'll never find her."

The disappointing news had Maya wishing she'd stayed in bed longer. Bucky's offer of breakfast in bed after morning sex had been very tempting, but there was work to do, or so Maya had expected.

"Hey, you got your sleeve back," a man in army uniform exclaimed upon seeing Bucky. "I'm Torres, by the way." He reached his hand out in greeting to shake Maya's.

"Maya," she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you."

"Wow, you're...you're beautiful," managed to stumble out making eye contact.

Bucky's glared at Torres whilst dragging Maya protectively into a hug from behind. "Someone's jealous," Maya huffed under her breath. He grunted a no response.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to-" Torres started to apologise to Bucky.

"No, no, it's quite alright," Maya interrupted. "It's just part and parcel with who I am, the Siren." She peeled herself away from Bucky, who tried to tighten his grip around her to no avail.

"You're her? I thought you had wings?"

"I do, when I want."

"That's sick!" Torres' eyebrows were raised in astonishment. "What else can you do?"

"You don't have to answer that, May." Bucky crossed his arms.

"I don't mind, I'm sure millions of people around the world have questions about me now," she reassured him. "Well," Maya turned back to Torres, "I can fly, as you know.  Have greatly improved senses. Control shadows, not sure how else to describe them." Opening her hand she formed a tiny black cloud in her palm. "I can take a hold of someone's sensory system with my mind. And when I sing, people tend to do what I want."

"Shiiiiiiit," Torres laughed. "That's quite a resume. I can see you're called Siren, but quite a few people have taken to the name Fallen Angel."

"I think I've had enough names for a life time," Maya sighed. "Siren has gotten me this far, might as well stick with it."

"You're kinda like a better version of him," he commented, pointing at Sam. Bucky chuckled quietly to himself.

She patted Torres on the shoulder as she walked past over to an annoyed Sam. "Glad to see your holding up just fine." Maya gave him a brief hello hug.

"Yeah, glad were all magically somehow alive." Sam gave her a pointed look. In answer, Maya told both he and Torres a more simplified version of what she'd told Bucky yesterday about her 'resurrection' as Sam called it after the explanation.

"What now?" Maya asked, leaning up against the table Sam's broken wings were on.

"Sit tight and just chill really until we get info on where Karli is, Torres stated. "Sometimes, there's nothing to do until there's something to do."

"That's bizarrely wise," Sam dryly laughed.

"Well, I'm a bizarrely wise man, Sam," Torres smiled. The two chuckled. Maya rolled her eyes.

"When you hear something," Maya pushed herself up from the table, heading for the exit, "Let us know."

"Will do," Sam said. Bucky was already out the door and half way down the street. "Have fun with that one," he taunted, motioning his head in Bucky's direction.
