Eunho travelled to Jeju the next day, arriving at the island two days after Christmas. He gave his younger sister a hug, crushing her and lifting her up in his arms tell him how much he missed her kissing her atop her head. Like the gentleman he was, gave kisses to Reyna and Rachel who were in the living room, telling them how it's been so long sine they've met and yet they still hadn't changed.
Not knowing there was another person in the house, besides his dad who went fishing, asked where his son was wanting to give him his belated Christmas presents when Dahee came down with the toddler in her arms as the little man played with her hair and laughed as she made faces at him. Dahee chuckling with him not noticing that her ex was there, standing by the stairwell, reminiscing about their past and admiring how she looked holding his baby.
Dahee finally looked at the boy, shocked to be met with the warm brown eyes that used to feed her an endless supply of love, still holding some sort of love in them but mixed with hurt and still they both smiled at each other, politely, Dahee passing Suho to his dad and the dad bathing his son in kisses and hugs making him squeal in delight.
"Appa missed you Suho, did you miss me too bud? Were you having one with your aunties while I was away hmm?" He cooed and baby talked to the boy, bobbing his head as if he understood every single word, giggling as his father while he clapped his hands before setting him down to crawl towards Hyejin who was calling him.
"He's really sweet, Eunho, a bit late but congratulations for having him." Dahee remarked, hugging herself and looking at the toddler who was now shaking his new toy while the other girls cooed at him. "Thanks but I'm not sure being a single father is something to congratulate someone about." He joked, scratching the back of his neck as he noticed how awkward that sounded. "Anyway, you look great, nothing's changed I see."
"Still broken!" Dahee chuckled nervously, adding another awkward moment to their first time meeting after they broke up. And how else did they think it would end up? That they'd see each other, smile, and thank each other for their relationship? Of course it wasn't going to be that way. What they had was a romantic, dramatic, epic love story that paralleled nothing else.
Dahee had been seventeen when she met the twenty-one year old Eunho, he was in his third year of college studying accountancy and hopefully go into law later on. He was the perfect big brother to Hyejin, visited her on special occasions in boarding school, bringing her and her friends sweets and contraband that wasn't allowed in the school, sending her letters and calling her so she could tell him all about her day, every other day lasting at least an hour each time.
On one of his visits on their last year in high school and college respectively, Hyejin had apparently left to visit their dad, he didn't expect she'd have money to fly home so he ended up spending the day with Dahee, the only one who's father didn't want her back for the break and who didn't even bother to visit her. Eunho feeling sorry for her treated her out that day, they went to parks and a carnival that was in town, he got her flowers and bought her chocolate, feeding her cotton candy and giving her a sip of his drink not bothering to change the straw. They played arcade games and won each other toys. It was the perfect day, and Dahee couldn't have been more thankful.
On the last hour of the carnival's open hours they rode the Ferris wheel. Wanting to see the view of that part of England from high above. Squealing at the rickety noises the cart they sat in made, Dahee had clutched onto Eunho, fearing the fall, and chuckling at how dramatic she was being taking her hands off of him. But what he did next made her heart skip a beat, he intertwined their hands instead, smiling at the younger girl ash he tucked their held hands into his jacket pocket, breathing out as he stared into the night sky.
For a few moments they were up there and they laughed and talked and told each other how they didn't expect they'd get along so well, that Eunho didn't notice just how beautiful and quirky Dahee was, and the girl telling him how she would've never guessed how warm his heart and his hands were, considering he teased Hyejin a lot making them laugh.
