Hyejin had woken up from her deep alcohol ridden sleep by the smell of something sweet wafting around her apartment. Her eyes fluttered open as she realized a heavy weight that settled on her stomach only noticing it when the haze of sleep left her head. Straining her neck to look flat down she saw a big pair of feet, adjacent to her belly, following it sideways until she saw a mop of curly hair peeking out from where the blanket covered most of Taehyung's body. Rolling to her side, off the bed, and letting Taehyung's long legs and big feet dangle off to the side, tucking the rest of his body in under the blanket before grabbing her prescription glasses and cellphone off the living room table where she had left it last night. Where she should've woken up on the arm chair beside the sectional where Jimin was sleeping on.
Tucking him under the throw blanket as well, she headed for the kitchen where Jin was standing cooking breakfast. They greeted each other a good morning while Jin continued flipping the pancakes and Hyejin headed for her fridge where she got a bottle of water and plopped an aspirin in her mouth for the hangover. Which wasn't as bad as she expected.
Walking over to the opposite side of the kitchen island where Jin was cooking, she took a seat offering him an aspirin as well which he gladly took. She commented on how amazing it smelt and told him how she hasn't had a homecooked meal in awhile, which Jin was happy to make her after letting them crash at her place. He didn't really remember how exactly she got them there but was thankful to wake up on a bed instead of a bathroom floor. Which reminded Hyejin how she got to the bed in the first place when she clearly remembers sleeping of on the arm chair.
"Oh I woke up just an hour before you and you looked uncomfortable so I carried you to the bed, I hope you don't mind that I did." Jin spoke in a rush, feeling flustered and embarrassed from feeling his ears go red. Hyejin, of course, thanked him for his chivalry and said she didn't mind. After that, they talked more about the food Jin prepared which was "Nothing much" as Jin described, he merely used leftover stuff from her kitchen which wasn't full to begin with. Making his own pancake batter with milk, flour and sugar, whisking up some eggs, making some butter pasta as well, and feeling blessed by some chorizo and sausage links she had in the freezer, he decided to make before they all woke up. He couldn't, however, find where she kept her coffee which she informed him "because I don't have any." A tea drinker, she said she was, but she could totally ask her neighbor for some instant coffee if he liked to which Jin declined.
After another hour or so the two younger boys finally woke up and scarfed down the rest of the food Jin had made. Jin had explained that Hyejin had to get ready for work and was currently upstairs taking a shower and getting dressed, that they should help clean up her apartment before they left. And clean up they did, Jin washing all the dishes they had used including the one's that were left there from yesterday, Taehyung fixing up her bed and vacuuming around, and Jimin had volunteered to run out and pick up some groceries to stock up her fridge and pantry.
It was incredible that they finished even before Hyejin got down from her loft but it was apparently because she had forgotten all about them, checking her emails as soon as she got dressed she was on work mode, like a robot her focus was intense going through each unread message, approving, editing, replying to numerous directors, clients, and model friends. She was reviewing another film, post-edit, and was making notes on each one before sending it back when Taehyung called out for her and only then she snapped out of her work daze climbing down the loft and greeting the boys again.
They had washed up through the kitchen sink and powder room, holding the hotel brushes Hyejin brought back with her from her travels and had changed into some clothes she offered them before washing up herself. They couldn't believe the clothes fit them but she said they were about just as tall as her own brother who visited her quite often, explaining where the clothes had come from. She apologized profusely for not coming down sooner but she had been immersed in her work so she got distracted from them. Which reminded Jin, telling her that Yoongi had already sent their project proposal to her hoping she'd browse through it soon, "Yes definitely, thank you."
They thanked her right back for being their photographer, letting them crash in her place, and for giving them a fun time last night. It had been awhile since any of the bangtan boys let loose for a night due to their busy schedule but was really glad they got to bar crawl and only end up with minimal hangovers while they were in London. She told them that it was her pleasure and that she'll see them again in a weeks time for the shoot. Saying their goodbyes and 'see you soon's the boys left for their hotel and Hyejin for her work.
~3 DAYS LATER~
Hyejin had just arrived in her flat, completely exhausted from the three day non-stop sessions she had and was relieved to finally be able to concentrate on the project with BTS. Pulling out her laptop and putting on her glasses after washing up and changing into comfortable clothing she glazed through the proposal, reviewing all the notes and markings she had written on each page. The boys were surprised by how active she had been in sharing her thoughts and opinions particularly about the theme, since that was what she was most concerned with being the photographer. She had asked them questions they themselves hadn't thought of and was glad she brought them up. Taking up almost all her suggestions they had finally come up with a concept to go with it.
Her knowledge on the photoshoot concepts and themes and direction wasn't what shocked the members however, it was her efficacy in replying and detail-oriented-ness and her overall involvement with the whole project is what made them admire her. Passion was something she didn't lack at all.
And upon reviewing all the things they had discussed, Hyejin knew that she already had a particular crew in mind. 'A completely outrageous idea' she thought 'half of them won't even agree to this' she could bet. But she tried anyway, calling the first person who didn't really need much convincing.
This phone call was gonna make a huge dent on her phone bill and really wished this person 'lived closer instead of freaking Australia' she thought while the line rung. On the fifth ring she picked up, "Rachel Ryu speaking, how may I help you?" Her toothachingly sweet voice spoke on the other end of the line, making Hyejin roll her eyes "You sound awfully cheerful." she remarked.
"Well I am getting an unexpected call from an old friend. I'm quite delighted actually."
"Well, how much more delighted would you be if I tapped you for a project I'm shooting for with the rest of the gang?"
"I'd be curious and send my RSVP. What's the catch?" Rachel had sat up from her cool, calm, and rested position on her bed at the mention of the gang and was hanging onto every word Hyejin said.
"I'm actually gonna need your castle, oh, and your makeup skills!"
Hyejin had filled Rachel in on all the details of the project and had agreed to come on board. She commented how "duh, of course I know BTS" and "wow I haven't done other people's make up in so long but would totally get back in to it" and also "I won't even be surprised if you fail to get the other two to agree" she had said with a scoff but deep down she was rooting for Hyejin to really get them all together again.
With a few more words exchanged between them, Rachel said she'll book the castle and send her the details when it was good to go. Hyejin on the other hand had another long distance phone call to make.
"Hello?" it had been so long since she had last heard her voice. It was so soft now, too soft. It had lost the strength it once held, the kind of voice that made you think she was way older than you only to learn later on how young she was. "Hello?" The other person on the line repeated.
Hyejin snapping out of her nostalgia, cleared her throat and spoke into the receiver "Dahee?"
