jeno was getting ready for work when he noticed that jaemin was still in bed. normally, jaemin wakes up earlier that jeno to prepare their breakfast so he could leave to work with him, but this time jaemin didn't.

jeno sat beside jaemin and shook him gently, "baby?"

jaemin wasn't moving, but he was breathing.

jeno tried again and jaemin slowly opened his eyes, "you're leaving for work already?"

jeno smiled and nodded.

"i'm sorry, i forgot to make you breakfast, hold on-"

"hey, no, it's fine. i can eat at the hospital later, i'll be okay." jeno smiled.

"you look pale jaemin, are you okay?" jeno asked.

"i'm fine, don't worry. this is just a little headache, sleeping will make this go away."

"are you sure? i could take a day off-"

"why would you do that? you don't have to worry so much, jeno. i promise that when you come home, i'll be here." jaemin smiled.

"since when did you have this headache?" jeno asked.

"i think the other day?"

"don't even think about staying, lee jeno. i told you, i'm fine! i could just call haechan over. the hospital needs you." jaemin added.

"fine. but make sure to call haechan, okay?" jeno said.

jaemin nodded and jeno kissed him and left.

"hey jeno?" jaemin called once more.

"yeah?"

"i love you. always remember, okay? always."

jeno nodded and smiled, "i love you more."

jeno went to buy himself a coffee before going to the hospital, but he kept on having this weird feeling about jaemin, so he called haechan to make sure he's going there.

"hello?" haechan spoke.

"how's jaemin?" jeno asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

"huh? what do you mean?" — haechan.

"you're not with jaemin right now?" — jeno.

"why would i be with jaemin?" haechan asked.

"he didn't call you? he said he's going to call you to come over because he's sick." — jeno.

"no, i didn't receive any calls from nana." — haechan.

"maybe he fell asleep. haechan could you stay with jaemin? he's having a bad headache but he didn't want me to stay, could you please look after him?" — jeno.

"of course! what's the code?" — haechan.

"1323. make sure he'll eat no matter what, okay?" — jeno.

"don't worry." — haechan.

"thank you, thanks haechan. really. just call me when something happens." — jeno.

"alright." — haechan.

jeno got to the hospital 30 minutes later because he went to pick something up, but as soon as he stepped in the hospital he was being paged to the emergency room.

"ah, what a great way to start my day." jeno told himself excitedly.

but when he got there, confusion was all over his face.

"haechan? what are you doing here?" jeno asked.

haechan's faces was painted with panic and total fear as tears fell down from him face.

"hey, what's wrong-" until realization hit him.

"NO."

jeno got inside and couldn't believe his eyes.

"na jaemin, 21. cause of emergency is heart attack." the nurse told him.

"NO!"
