haechan opened his eyes, to be welcomed in a familiar place, but it's not his place. he was expecting to have a heavy headache once he woke up, but he woke up fine. he frowned and tilted his head.

he suddenly felt so happy, he thought he could tolerate strong alcohol drinks now.

"HA! YOU THOUGHT LEE JENO!"

he covered his mouth, completely surprised that he sounds like a complete different person. it was deep and husky. sure his voice can be husky sometimes, but this husky???? nah. it aint him at all.

the voice is quite familiar to him. it's as if it's a voice he hadn't heard for a while. it's as if the voice... it was a voice he  would always hear everytime he woke up in that same house.

he looked at his arms with wide eyes, his body is different. he looked around once more, "i-i'm ho-home?"

"b-but isn't this jaemin's room?" he asked himself.

he frowned again, and ran to a mirror in the bedroom. and once he saw his reflection, his legs weakened and made him step backwards, not believing his eyes.

"h-how did this happen?!"

while he was panicking, he heard the front door open.

"nana! i'm here! let's go, we'll be late for work!"

"shit. it's that nosy best friend of jaemin. the fuck am i gonna do? jump off the window? no! it's too high. fuck, he knows jaemin too well! he'll suspect something's wrong for sure," he said putting his hand on his head, walking back and forth.

not long after, renjun opened the bedroom door and frowned at haechan.

"you're still not ready? it's so unlike you to wake up this late. anyways, we still have a little time, so—"

"i-im not going to work." haechan smiled at him awkwardly.

renjun frowned and squinted his eyes at him, "something's not quite right..."

"wh-what? what nonsense! psh! g-go, now! y-you'll be late!" haechan said and tried to push renjun away.

renjun caught haechan's wrist and gave it a good grip.

haechan was surprised. "how could a small human being be this strong?" he thought.

"if you won't tell me what's wrong, then i'm not going to work. i'll stay here until you open up." he sat on one of jaemin's chairs with crossed arms and legs.

it went silent for a while until renjun spoke again, "jaemin, i told you, you can tell me anything. you know how much i care about you, and i don't want you drowning in the same phase before. i know that you know i'm also trying my best to help you with your depression because you don't want to see a doctor—"

"d-depression?" haechan asked, surprised.

"yeah. depression— anyways, i hate to bring back the past, i know you hate it, but since college, since the day that damned jeno left your ass, you went in a black hole, jaemin. too damn deep. i can't lose you. i almost lost you. i can't, and i won't let that shit happen again, you hear me? now open the fuck up before i put you in my damn soup," renjun said, slamming his hand on top of a drawer making haechan flinch.

"jaemin sure is right. this little mouse is scary," he whispered.

"what was that?" renjun asked, raising an eyebrow.

"o-oh! i-i said—" he cleared his voice before speaking again, "i said, i have to do something really important today. t-tell the boss that i'm gone."

renjun frowned because everybody at work knows that he's the boss whenever the owner is away. and at the moment, the boss is out. so that makes jaemin in charge. that makes jaemin the boss.
