𝚔𝚒𝚝𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚗I ended up staying in the room I was 'assigned' all day alone. I didn't feel like coming out of the room and having everyone looking at my puffy face. I'd cry for a fair amount of the day and sulked for the rest of the day. Real productive!
I bet she thinks I hate her now. Which, as much as I find the lie heartbreaking, I could never throw out years of friendship for a lie. I suppose I'll have to take Madison advice and actually use it. If the excuse is good enough, I might be open to a second chance, but if it's simply to keep the relationship only for them I will be deeply heart. Just the thought of it sends a deep ache in my chest.
Laying in the bed, everything is dark except the lamp on the bed side table. It lightly illuminates the large room and I follow the line of light it travels to. I've felt so sick that I didn't make an effort at to eat today.
By now it's already 1 AM and my stomach is growling, and it will not let me sleep. Surely no one is awake right now. My feet hit the soft carpet and I head towards the door. I open it careful making sure not make any noise. I peak my head out the dark hallway and tiptoe down the cold stairs. I make sure to grip the railing, in order to ensure I won't tumble down accidently. I turn towards where I think Grey showed me the kitchen and walk tentatively down the hall. There's no sound except the humming from the fridge.
Opening the swinging door, I enter and make my way to the fridge. I open the fridge and cool bright air fills my lungs. I scan over the options and settle on a plum. I bring it over to the sink and wash it under some cool water. I pull my feet up on one of the island chairs and settle in for my delicious plum. I bite into my plum and find that is so juicy. Halfway through my plum I hear a slam.
The hairs on my back stand up and I raise to my feet. A huff makes it way closer, and I cower behind the island.
"The FUCK." A scream enters the kitchen. It grabs a water and slams it shut so loudly my body jumps up from my standing position.
Luckily for me I'm trapped between the counter and chair so jumping causes the chair to rat me out by squeaking- loudly. Amazing timing!
"What are you doing awake?" He gulps his water down.
Is Grey going to be mad at me? I know it's him by the way the silver reflects the moonlight on his fingers.
Gulping I answer "p-plum?" I hold my plum out like an idiot. I am a deer caught in headlight, confused and just wanting to go on my merry way eating my perfect plum.
"You should be asleep." He slams his water bottle down and leans against the frige.
What is he, my dad?
"didn't know i had a bedtime..." I grumble underneath my breath. "Where did you come from." I make my way out from my "hiding" spot.
"Doing shit that should've been taken cared of but wasn't." Grey grips the island and runs a hand through his hair.
"is everything ok?" I pry. His business seems never ending and leaves him exhausted. I am still confused about this whole business he is affiliated with.
"yeah. peachy." He sighs. Sounds like it wasn't so peachy to me.
I stammered a little until I decided not to reply. I make my way to him slowly while he hangs his head. He rests his arms on either side of the kitchen island and stares down at his feet.
The dark kitchen was no help in seeing any part of him. The only light provided was from the open fridge light and the moonlight from the window above.
It's then that I spotted a red-looking patch on the side of his arm painting his white shirt a maroon. The shirt was unbuttoned, and the white undershirt tank showed peaked from his collared shirt. He had both layers tucked into his black sacks.
Lifting his head, he looked directly into my eyes and stared into my eyes for a bit. I gnawed on my lip for a looked away immediately.
"Are you hungry?" I asked as I looked towards the food in the fridge.
He bent his neck down to my level and whispered, "ravenous."
I swiftly turned on a random light switch. It ended up being a string of lights underneath the cabinets which worked fine. There were so many light switches, I don't think I'll ever know the differences.
Turning around I see nothing but Grey's chest in my face. "wow. ok." I pull my hands up to his chest and slowly push away as I treed backwards. "What do you want?" I ask as I point to the fridge with my thumb.
"You choose." He looks down at his shirt. "I'll be back. I just need to freshen up." He rushes out and walks away briskly. I nod and watch his body move towards the exit.
As I watch his descending figure, I spot a red patch on his torso. It looks to have soaked the shirt and my eyes almost bulge out of their sockets. It looks exactly like blood. "Grey!" I call out, hoping he will stop in his tracks, but he never heard me.

I ended up making a simple pizza. There were some frozen pizzas in the fridge and I'm sure Grey wouldn't mind some pizza. It must be criminal to hate pizza.
After putting the pizzas in the oven, I plop myself onto the kitchen island and wait for the pizza in the oven to rise. My stomach growled in anticipation.
With so much time on my hands, I let my mind drift to earlier events. I still cannot fathom the amount of time Jamie needed to perfect her lie. Part of me wants to immediately forgive her, another part wants to never talk to her again. It's a battle war zone in my mind.
I bite my nails lost in thought until I hear Grey walk in. He sports some green and black plaid pajama bottoms along with a loose black t-shirt.
I can see his tattoos fully and clearly! I've been meaning to ask what they are. Jumping off the counter I make my way over to him and absentmindedly scan his arm with some major laser eyes. They are highly trained to be observants and mildly invasive.
"c-can I see your um. Your tattoos?" I ask with toothy smile like a curious child.
